I'm not sure what to make of it. Of all the links in your post, the only one I recognized was for the Ukiah newspaper. It stated there was a meeting for the public on Mar 31. The item of concern in that article was the use of sonar bouys, over 9,000 of them.

Depleted uranium is released into the air 24/7 by coal burning power plants, along with mercury and other heavy metals. This needs to be kept in perspective. Concerning radiation, a 4.5 billion year half life means that there is very little radioactivity. 1 kg of U-238 has an activity of about 10^7 decays/second. This is truly very little. People become quite paranoid about anything that is radioactive; what they don't understand is that 2/3 of the radiation dose they receive annually comes from breathing, and the only "unnatural" thing they did to expose themselves to it is build a house.
