Couple of quick questons..

I have read a couple of things recently that I thought were excellent and, being an eedjut, I forgot to add to my favourites and I can't find them anywhere on the board now.

The first was about the golden rule of scriptual interpretation - something about if it makes sense, don't interpret it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and can you provide any linkage to somewhere I can quote it from?

The second was a biblical passage which says, and I have to paraphrase - let no man interpret prophecy, let prophecy interpret itself - or something. Again, does anyone know what I'm talking about and can you provide any linkage to somewhere I can quote it from?

Not sure if this is the verse you are looking for on question #2, but perhaps it is.

2 Peter 1:20-21
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."

On question #1, I have no idea. :)
