Hi guys and gals,

I found some software that I tought might intrest you. I ran it by Becky and she thought it looked ok and suggested that I post here. There are a group of people putting together free software for bible study. They have a bunch of different bibles included and looks like an extensive list of study aids. These are all commonly available from book stores and such. These guys are digitalizing them with permission from authors and such. Many out print things also. I hope this will help some of you with your studies.

The software runs on Windows for sure, prolly has MacOS and Linux versions also. Its being developed under the same license as Linux is run under. That tells me that the folks are uber computer geeks. There software sould be pretty tight.

If anyone finds it helpful send me a PM or something.

They have it for Mac osx but not 9.2. I'll have to update my system. My brother has e-sword and just loves it. The reason these open source programs are so wonderful is you don't have to be on the internet to use them. Thanks for the info:D

I was just about to order e-sword (http://www.e-sword.net). Have you used both, and can you contrast them? :)

Why order ESword? It is free to download. All of it (except the NASB). (Unless you are just ordering on CD to support the ministry. I just sent our dear brother myers a few bucks instead.)

I won't be downloading the one mentioned above. They include cult and questionable translations in their efforts. Sorry, but I will stick with something a little more solid. And yes, I know I don't have to download them, but seeing the Joseph Smith translation listed there was just a bit too much!

:sick Just shoot me and put me out of my stupidity. I thought I had e-Sword, but I don't. I have another program called Sword Searcher, which tells me that I've passed the evaluation period. I have no idea how I got Sword Searcher, when all along I knew about e-Sword. :lol

I like E-sword quite a bit, it just irks me that the NIV folks will not allow a translation for it even for a nominal fee.
