It doesn't say in the Bible, but archealogical and historical evidence shows that the cross was at one time kept by the Knights Templar (http://www.templarhistory.com) who were known to have kept the Shroud of Turin. Later, Constantine kept the cross, along with thw bones of the Magi. Constantine came to Christ after recieving a vision.
hope this was helpful God Bless:)

Hi mikie33, it's OK that you couldn't answer. :) The bible is silent on some things, and as JesusSavedIn01 stated, what happened to the cross is not mentioned in the bible. I believe what became of it is a matter of speculation. No one really knows. :)

God did not allow the cross or other objects/things in scripture to survive, as man would worship them as idols. My opinion is based on passages such as the serpent of brass made by Moses, and Israel started worshipping it.
II Kings 18:4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.
Even without the "real" cross, has not man made an idol of it? It is hung on walls, cars, and around necks with the belief (of some) that it provides physical protection, etc.

It remained a bridge from man to God over sin.:)

I am a novice in this but I beleive I've heard some argue that it wasn't a wooden man-made cross at all, but possibly a tree. I've also heard others argue that some translations would be interpreted as cross="a stake". To me it doesn't matter, He was still crucified, died and arose.
Is anyone aware of Scripture that physicaly describes the cross? I'm not.
Peace
Timothy

No, it is not physically described....
If I recall correctly, there were several different types of means by which crucifixtions took place. They looked like (I think):
1) X
2) T
3) +
4) Variations of +, with 2-3 multiple horzintal bars in various places
Matthew 27:37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Since they wrote something over his head, it is plausible that the cross was one of the variations with at least a 2nd horzontal bar (to write on).
I'll see if I can dig something up tonight...

:) Thank you my friends, I think the cross is in our , hearts, mind and soul. . I pray That God will Hide my sins behind the cross.
I looked at this way, wood , hay, and stubble. will not last forever.
I think Timothy Might be on to something. Just say somebody did have it,
Can ya wonder what kind a battle there would be for it.
to me It would be like finding the Ark, or Moses staff ???

one thing important to understand is that the roman cross was actually two pieces.
the part that the arms were nailed was separate. The condemed was to carry that piece to the site of execution and they would lay him down and nail the arms then attact that part to a stake in the ground.
I have no idea how they attached it. as an eagle scout I know you can use the square lashing but the body would be in the way and it would be very difficult if not impossible to tie it.
personally I don't know what they did with the part they attached. sorry about that.
