What do you do to a Bible, that has fallen apart, when you purchase a new one, or its one you've had forever? Do you keep it? I'm just wondering. Its something my friends ask me a lot, because theu know how I am about God. What is the answer?
I know the words never pass away and so on, but what do I physically do with it, if anything? :confused

A bible that's falling apart-usually means a life that isn't.
If it's time for a new one then it's time for a new one. Wear it out too. I have an old NKJ that is really worn out-pages are starting to go missing. I put it up for awhile but got it back out again. Now, I'm trying to wear out my NIV

Save it. pass it on to your kids as a "Family History" of your Christian walk.

consider giving it to a prison fellowship ministry? I think Chuck Colson's group would be interested? If you made your own annotations, it would be worth a 'mint' to prisoners.

I've saved all of mine. One is in the newer Scofield ::shudder:: box cover and I have it in my closet. I'm working on an Anti-Depression box, and that Bible is gonna be in it.
I also have about three others I need to put in it- one from when I was little - one from 8 yrs to 13.. and two little new testaments one from my dedication and the other from my baptism..
If nothing else, your kids will want to look at it when you're long gone.
My mom has hers upstairs in her room and uses it for reference on her message board on MSN. -- I THINK she has her other one still at my grandma's, and I was looking at it the last time I was there, and it was so interesting, all the things she had underlined.

If you are interested in giving your Bibles so that they may continue to spred the word of God, email or pm me and I can direct you to a ministry that sends them throughout the world to people who do not have Bibles.

Assuming the Bible is falling apart and can't be given away, why not just throw it away .... or better yet, use a page or two at a time to start campfires or a woodstove fire.

It's also possible to have it re-bound. Take it to a bookstore and find out if that's something you might be interested in. It's hard for me to think about parting with my first bible; there's so many notes and hightlights, etc.
Hope it works out you can get it fixed!
