I was hoping that someone would know of a good Bible memory verse method. I am wanting this for myself as well as for my two boys, ages 8 & 10. They are Home Schooled and I would like to add it into their classes.

I once saw a computer program that you could buy that had verses grouped into subject, such as Hope, End Times ect. Anyways these verses are are able to be printed up on business sized cards so that you can easily have access to them.

If anyone knows of anything like this or another good memory study guide please let me know.

Thanks.

Jack Van Impe has a plan here:

I tried picking out the verses I most wanted to memorize and made up flashcards on index cards, and put them in a little notebook, but never got around to memorizing them.

For me the best way to memorize scripture has been to just continually read the same passages over and over and find that memorization comes automatically after awhile.

I'm interested in other ideas too.

Dry erase marker and a refrigerator door. The boys get something from the fridge, they read it out loud. (reading out loud uses both parts of the brain, btw.) At the end of the day or at dinner time, it gets erased and written down on a card to keep somewhere. During dinner, the boys do 3 things.

1. Recite the verse
2. What does it mean to THEM. (Not what YOU think it means)
3. How can they incorporate it in their lives

At the end of the week, how many verses can they remember?

I plan on home schooling my boy. The dry erase is something I use for my SS class. I have a small dry erase board on my class room door and the kids have to read it out loud when they enter.

As time goes on, you may notice some marker staying on the fridge or board or bathroom mirror (love notes between hubby and me) A clorox wipe will take the residue off no problem.

Neat idea Mrs. Hoppes :)

I would never have thought of that. I have a dry eraser board that I use for my kids for certain quick notes to the family. Your idea would be a nice way to see how much we all learn from it.

Thanks:D
