View Full Version : Genesis 3's seeds vs. Daniel 2's seeds

I was wondering if these two verses had anything to do with one another, and if so, what, in your opinions?
**************************************************

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

We know that the woman's seed was Christ, and that he was placed in her womb by God. Who is the serpant's seed? Is this a literal placement in a womb or is that beyond Satan's ability? If it is beyond his scope, then what kind of seed are we talking about? The two words in Hebrew mean the same thing... posterity, semen, children.

Daniel 2:43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

What is mingling itself with the seed (same word as above) of men?? Why can't it hold itself together? This is supposed to be happening in the final kingdom which many of us believe is upon us. What is going on in these two passages?

The seed of Satan are all unbelievers. In John 8:44 Jesus says, "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do."

Daniel 2:43 is a little confusing, but I don't think it ties in with Genesis 3:15. I think it may just be saying that no matter how strong that final kingdom is, it will still be the seed of men and will have human weaknesses and will ultimately fail.

Jennie,

Two possible explanations:

1) During the trib, the demons that were chained in the pit will be released with Abaddon. These, I've heard, may mingle with the seed of men as in the preflood. I don't really subscribe to that explanation cause I don't agree that they ever did preflood either.

2) That the apostate Jews will mingle with the seed of men. This seems plausible because in Jer, God says Israel is the clay. And further, look at all the times the Jews have been blamed for weakening Gentile "empires." Lastly, this would be something new. Jews have been scattered among the Gentiles but they have not intermarried much. That trend is changing now as you know and could be a sign that we are approaching the trib.

I don't know about Daniel 2 but I believe Sojourner has it right on John 8:44 and a number of other verses. Too tired to post them.

All unbelievers are of the seed of Satan. There is no getting out of that "life" until one dies as per Romans 6 and is born again of the seed of the Father.

glorydays,

What is your take on Genesis 6:1-4?
It specifically says the "sons of God" married woman.
Every place that I`ve seen "sons of God" in the Bible has been a reference to angels, at least in the OT.
