Hi. I was given some books about the life of William Branham from someone I consider a true beliefer. Have any of your heard of him. Iv'e started reading about his healing ministry, but many red flags are going up as I read.

Please, could some of you tell me about this person?[William Branham]

The person that gave the books to me thinks very highly of Him, and I know that I'll be asked after reading the books if they have had a great impact on me spiritually as they have had on them.

What are some of the red flags? I have never heard of him, but that doesn't say much.

Oh boy, never mind! He's definately a false prophet!

I've been doing alot of reading on him this afternoon.

Thank the Lord for the Holy Spirit to discern. Now I'm so worried for the ones who gave me the books to read

Hi Sadie. Isn't God good to reveal truth to us when we ask and seek it? The sad part is that this same truth often divides believers, because - like those dear friends who gave you the book - people who follow a man or a group like the Word of Faith (Copeland, Hagin, Price etc.) often are so loyal to them, that they cannot hear you, but actually start persecuting and accusing you of being divisive, or not mature enough. Of course there is some truth in that book, but the "revelations" are not consistent with God's Word.
Pray for your friends, don't argue. Give them your opinion and after that only scriptures. When they argue the scriptures, they don't argue with you any longer but with the author of the Bible, the Holy Spirit.
I'll join you in prayer that their hearts and minds and ears will be open to the truth - the sword of the Spirit - that divides between soul (their attatchment to Branham) and the spirit (God's Word) and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Thanks Haeshen,

that sounds like good counsel to me. I love these two people very much that gave the books to me & I'll try to tell them my thoughts on this man in a gentle and loving way. I'm a little afraid because by talking to them a while back, I could tell that Branham's claims are authentic to them. I'm worried that they are focusing on him alot. I don't want to hurt them because they really feel his story has blessed them.

It is tough sadie....especially when people think highly of a person, they tend to ignore anything negative, and even excuse it, but seeds oftentimes yield major dividends. :)

Sorry about that. I didn't know. So I guess then SadieGrace can email if she wants to read the link. Cause it was several very long posts by me so I doubt that you would want me to copy them over here. But let me just say this. I was born and raised in WB's beliefs and thanks be to God I have found the Truth and surrendered my life to Christ April 3rd, 2002. And now I am on a mission to help expose the lies within William Branham's teachings.

God Bless,

Em

Sadie,

I think I know which red flags you were seeing. Here's a site which talks about Branham and the

"Pillar of Fire." (http://www.biblebelievers.org/lcomm2.htm)

If you look at the home for the site you'll see they believe Branham comes after Wesley...that he is the seventh messenger to the seventh church in Revelation.

Godspeed,
Your brother in Messiah,
Matthew
