It seems since I'm becoming a more mature Christian not too many people seem to like the new me especially at work. I've been called a old man(told I'm acting much older than my age) and a pie in the sky guy among other things. It also seems that I have run across many more rude people or people who used to be friendly to me are no longer friendly. I guess this just comes with the territory. Some are saying I just think I am better without me saying a thing about any of these people. I have not pushed the Lord on anyone at this stage nor have I condemned anybody. Many people also act very defensive when they are in conversation with me and I'm not out to judge any other human. They will just overreact when they are talking about someone and I'll defend them and say we are all human. The Lord will do all the judging and I do not like to gossip. I guess this is somewhat confusing and frustrating for me.

Yes, it happens. You are growing, and they are not. Remember, Jesus said the world will hate us because it hated Him first. And when He truly lives within us, and begins to shine through us... some are drawn, but the "worldly" not welcome Him/us.
Matthew 5:
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Couldn't have said it better myself! Stay strong brother.

I've heard a lot of untrue statements and comments made about me. I just chuckle because I know it's a spiritual war. The funny thing is some of these people call themselves Christians but I realize they are just wolves in disguise and treat them as such.

My grandmother used to say, the spirit within THEM doesn't like the Spirit within YOU and because of that, that spirit makes the unbeliever treat the believer with cruel intentions.

Funny I'm accused of having overly high self esteem because I won't partake in filth.

During the first few years of my Christian walk I had a friend that I would visit. She had prayed for me to come to the Lord and was thrilled when I did. She had a difficult relationship with her mother-in-law, so when the MIL showed up while I was visiting, I would just keep my mouth shut.
One day my friend called me, upset, to tell me a comment her MIL had said about me. I don't know why my name had been brought up in conversation, but the MIL said that I had my halo on too tight. I thought it was hilarious. I hadn't said a word, but apparently my light was shining very brightly.

Ah, let them have their moments of angst against us. Keep on walking in God's sight as righteous and just.
I was once called a fanatic by a Catholic priest because I wore a cross around my neck. Can't remember my answer (was many years ago) but I do remember it didn't upset me. I knew whom I was supposed to be pleasing to.
