After we die...

We Are Received By Christ...
"Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." - Acts 7:59

And Escorted By Angels To Heaven...
"So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom." - Luke 16:22

Where We Are Greeted By Christ...
"But Stephen, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and said, "Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!" - Acts 7:55-56

And Where We Enter Into The Joy Of The Lord...
'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

In Heaven We Are No Longer Under The Curse...
"And there shall be no more curse?" - Rev. 22:3

Which Means We Will Become Like Christ...
"Dear friends, now we are children of God and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him." - 1 John 3:2

And Will Dwell With God...
"Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God." - Revelation 21:4

And No Longer Suffer...
"God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." - Revelation 21:4

We Will Serve Christ...
"The throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him." - Rev. 22:3

And Will Be With Him Forever...
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16

This is so encouraging to me today... With some of the recent headlines it is such a comfort to remember that all we see now is temporary. It is a real "breath of fresh air" to be reminded of God's awesome promises. :jump

I remember when I was a kid my grandmother would talk to me about heaven in such a way I didn't want anything to do with it. I asked about hiking or boating there and she always said we wouldn't want to do such worldly things. She made it sound like a big boring church service. But when I studied the scriptures for myself I found a lot to be excited about, that God created me with these tastes and His descriptions of the animals in the kingdom sounded fantastic, with feasts and celebrations, laughter...it'll be better than anything she imagined.
