I know this has been discussed before, but I can't remember...which are the best ones? Where do I get some? Any advice?

I enjoy giving out chick comics (not all of them)

Especially to the bag boys/girls with a tip at the market.

But for just going out soulwinning our church has printed their own which are pretty good.
Sword of the Lord has many that have been used throughout the years to present the gospel to millions.

Yep! Good man who went to heaven in 1995. He led many people to the Lord.

Chick? :facepalm

They are really good if your goal is to alienate people -- or -- if you want to give someone a great story to tell at work the next day, with accompanying over the top hate filled tract.

I never met anyone who came to Jesus because of a Chick Tract, but do know countless people who do like to laugh at the absurdity of them.

Have you thought about developing your own?

Way of the Master (Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron's ministry) has some really good ones on their website. :):

I like some of the following:

Chick Tracks (http://www.chick.com/catalog/tractlist.asp): While I don't' agree with everything Chick says, he has some *very* good tracks in his arsenal. There's also a place to put the name and address of your church, so if someone wants to follow up they can.
This was Your Life (http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0001/0001_01.asp)
It's The Law (http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/5007/5007_01.asp)
The Word Became Flesh (http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0059/0059_01.asp)
The Empty Tomb (http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0295/0295_01.asp)

The Living Waters (http://www.livingwaters.com/) stuff is more calling to repentance. It's not the only way, but it dose seem to be a good one, especially in a country where the vast majority of the population identify themselves as Christian.
Living Waters Tracts (http://www.livingwaters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=gospeltracts):
Are you a Good Person? (http://www.livingwaters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=269) (Comic, one of my favorites)
Million Dollar Bill (http://www.livingwaters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=298)
Ten Commandments Coin (http://www.livingwaters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=283) This one is small, but you can leave it anywhere.
The Wallet (http://www.livingwaters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=228) , a good one to leave somewhere. :heh
Are you a Good Person? (http://www.livingwaters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=256) (totally different booklet by same name)
Are you good enough to go to Heaven? (http://www.livingwaters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=235)
Discover: Four Simple Laws (http://www.livingwaters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=232)

I really like this one, but it's hard to give out money o.O
A Gift For You (http://www.livingwaters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=286)

I've used others out too, but those are some of the main ones I've used so far (looking over them again, there are several newer ones I want to try now too). I mainly use them as a plant for someone to pick up. I've only directly handed them to people very rarely, which is a sad statement about me I guess.

Lots of companies make them, and a great many are really good. You can also find some online that you can print out and fold up too, which is neat.

Ok, I've seen that Chick tracts have been debated here before......but I've never been able to figure out what they are! Can someone explain?

I really enjoy the Chick tracts and do feel they are very effective. Definitely doesn't water down the message and confuse the reader. I've used a few different company tracts but now I only stick with chick (not trying to rhyme).

I've used Chick tracts for decades and love them. I get the sample pack, over 100 and all different, for about $14. For years now I'd keep them piled in a basket in my living room and whenever one of my (then teenage) kids brought friends over, they'd sit around and dig through them. I have known LOTS of kids come to a saving knowledge of Christ and His finished work on the cross because of Chick tracts. As a matter of fact, I had two young men in their 20's, DS Sparlin's buddies, completely engrossed in the basket just last week, and they both left with handfuls of Chick tracts. One of them was raised a Jehovah's Witness and the other guy is a former Catholic looking for answers and peace of mind.
I figure I put the basket out in faith and let the Lord put the right Chick tracts into their hands.

To give a more literal explanation, they're small cartoon booklets (about 2.5 inch x 5 inch by 10 or so pages, going by memory) printed in black and white with just a couple colors on the cover that gives a short message about the Gospel or other stuff. My post above has links to several of them at the top.

I love that idea CM. I'm going to order some up to keep in a basket too.

I've been leaving tracts around and giving them to dd to use. I put one in the payment folder at Red Robin the other night. It feels sorta like fishing...:lol

What are good places to leave them? :ear
