I was surfing the net for various churches "near" me (the closest would be in Woodstock), and I came across this heading in Google...
Calvary Pentacostal Church, but when I click on the website, it labels itself as Calvary Community Church.
I've heard a lot of praise for Calvary Churches (in the US anyway), so I was curious to see if there were any Canadian ones. But I was unaware that it was a Pentacostal church? Was that just a misnomer on Google's part?
What do you think? Here is the link, which states it's a Community Church.

I don't know, but you might e-mail them and ask them. :noidea
I have e-mailed churches to ask questions prior to making a decision whether to attend them. It doesn't seem to have bothered them.

I basically just wanted to know the difference between a community church and a pentacostal church.

Are you referring to Calvary Chapel? I attend one and have never heard of one being Pentecostal :confused. As Barb said, it would be a good idea to e-mail them and find out for sure...

This appears to be a pentacostal church.
What We Believe
WE BELIEVE - the Holy Scriptures to be the divinely, Inbreathed, Infallible, Inerrant and authoritative Word of God.
WE BELIEVE - that there is one God, eternally existent in the Person of the Holy Trinity.
WE BELIEVE - in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His deity, His sinless humanity, and perfect life, the eternal all-sufficiency of His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father's right hand, and His personal coming again at His second advent.
WE BELIEVE - that justification is a judicial act of God on the believer's behalf solely on the merits of Christ, and that regeneration by the power of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
WE BELIEVE - in holy living, the present day reality of the baptism in the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the Lord's supernatural healing of the human body.
WE BELIEVE - in Christ's Lordship of the Church, the observance of the ordinances of the Christian baptism by immersion for believers and the Lord's Supper.
WE BELIEVE - in the eternal blessedness of the redeemed in heaven and the eternal doom of the unregenerate in the lake of fire.

Normally This is code for Speaking in "false" Tounges and Miraculous "slain in the spirit" type healings.
I believe in al the gifts being available today for the body of believers however I also believe that While there are good and sincere believers in this movement, everything that came from Asuza Street "revival" to be false and all who have followed after that false movement to this day to follow after false heretical teaching. It has destroyed much for the kingdom's sake.

I found it very disturbing the way they worded the 5th point in their statement of faith. They seem to be associating charismatic signs with holy living. That's bad mojo.
