What do you guys here think of James Dobson? I really think he's honest and really has a passion for protecting this nation's Christian heritage/worldview. Also, last week my Youth Group in Hackensack were listening to a radio broadcast with Michael Youseff about Radical Islam. Thoughts?

It sure is. I've seen that. And he has a truly Biblical view on marriage and parenting.

I have a friend from High School whose parents have worked with him since he started his first radio program back in California and followed him out to Colorado Springs. I believe it has been over 25 years that they have known him and he is exactly who you hear on the radio. He lives and breaths every word of what you hear.

Reason why I brought him up is because some RR folks are claiming he's a false teacher. I'm sure J.D. doesn't mind getting discerned just like John MacArthur or Greg Laurie. I think it's ridiculous to say he's a heretic.

Yep. All I can say is that if RR forums doesn't stop this nonsense, they could be going down the "Way of Bill Gothard."

I have the highest respect for Dr. Dobson. :nod I listen to Focus on the Family every day on my way in to work. Dr. Dobson never has claimed to be a 'teacher'... as a matter of fact, he goes out of his way to point out that he ISN'T a teacher of the Word.

The ethic he lives by is a strong and solid one. He's a Christian with a passion for the "family", as designed by God.

Dr. Dobson is continuously under attack. The simple reason is... because he's RIGHT! Satan can't stand it. He has a marvelous venue to reach thousands and thousands for Christ.. and, he uses it to every advantage that he and those he surrounds himself with.... Every advantage! Dobson understands time is short.

It aggravates me to no end.... when "Christians" attack someone like Dr. Dobson, and call him the names they do. The same thing happens to Billy Graham all the time! :doh

Why are so many true men of God attacked like they are? Because they are winning over souls... they are 'fishers of men'. Because of this one thing.... satan makes sure they are attacked in the public arena, trying to silence them. :sigh

Thankfully and prayerfully.. satan has failed in that... so far.

That's good.

As long people like James D., Billy G., etc. admit that they're fallible people, that's a good sign that they're orthodox to the core.

I also can't stand people like David Cloud. He claims everyone is a heretic but him. What a crazy loco!

I completely agree. And I like Dr. Dobson as well. ;): I like hanging out here than the RR boards now anyway, plus the format is easier to read.

I think if you stick around a site long enough, you will see just about every name being mentioned by somebody as a false teacher:sigh. I believe Dobson has a deep passion for the Lord and has a strong Biblical view on how believers should live their lives. I listen to him on the radio off and on and he has never raised any "red flags" with me.

I don't know of any teachers who they haven't said that about over there.

I like his shows on various family values and how to deal with real life and family issues. He does rub me the wrong way when he gets too much into politics.

From time to time, we may encounter individuals who seem to claim that just about everyone who disagrees with their interpretation of the Bible is a "false teacher." I know I've witness leaders such as Charles Stanley, David Jeremiah, Beth Moore, Kay Arthur, Max Lucado and Bob Coy be accused of some pretty horrible things that after thorough investigation proved to be false. While none of these leaders is infallible, they certainly don't deserve to be treated with contempt.

We're all intelligent individuals who can do our own research, search the Scriptures, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit and then come to our own conclusions. I think discussion and debate of difficult issues is necessary - even if we disagree. However, I don't think that our disagreement should divide the Body of Christ.

I do believe that false teaching should be challenged, however, the ill treatment of individuals hastily accused without respect to truth and justice is wrong. There are Scriptural guidelines as to how we should lovingly rebuke one another. We - myself included - sometimes forget to follow such guidelines. This profits no one.

I highly oppose joining the "heretic hunt" - especially because someone else suggests you do. Challenging false teaching is one thing, conducting a mock trial without the benefit of the presence of the individual accused not only goes against our democratic values, it also goes against what Christ taught.

Just because one Christian leader says that another Christian leader is a "false prophet" doesn't necessarily make it so. I believe that our brethren deserve fair and unbiased treatment. In the end, we all answer to Christ. His opinion is what ultimately matters.

Grace and Peace to you.

JerRockson.

Look at the top of the page.

It says Prophecy Fellowship.

Please refrain from making negative comments about any other board.

There are people who frequent many boards, and are friends.

Most are as passionate about their "Virtual Families" as they are about their real world families, you will bring more harm than good by that action.

If you have an issue about another board, take it up with their Moderators.

If you have trouble elsewhere as it pertains to this board, inform one of our Moderators and we will deal with it.

We have enough trouble in with those who hate the Kingdom of G-d to be the "fifth column" against our own.

While we may disagree, we must be mindful of G-d controlling the body and putting the "parts" where he wants them.

Thanks for understanding.

And I think the points needed to be made about the good Doctor Dobson were. :nod
