For bible class...has anyone written your testimony? I feel like it would be a three volume set, not sure what to focus on. Do I talk about how bad I was as a nonbeliever? The moment of conversion? I can't list all the things God has done for me, I wish I had written things down as they happened. Don't know how to get started. Does anyone have testimonies handy where I can get an idea of how they are structured?

PG, may I suggest you give a very brief overview of the former life you led before your salvation. No big juicy long-winded details, just a generic overview. After all, haven't we all been there, done that?
Then . . . focus in great detail on the miracle of your re-birth and all the changes our wonderful Redeemer made and is still making in your life. There's nothing like a good positive story to inspire others and besides, everyone loves a happy ending?

Well I wrote it. It's sure not a happy flower and puppies story but it's the truth. It really made me think about how totally :redface lost I was 5 years ago before coming to Christ. I wish I had kept a log of all that God has done for me...it's like in the bible where (I think it was John) that said and Jesus did many things that to write them all down, it would fill books.

This past Sunday the pastor said this about your testimony: It's not how bad you (we) have been, but how good Jesus has been to me (us). I thought that made sense.

When I wrote mine, I used a specific message I wanted to get across. The fact that even while I was rebelling, God was reaching out to me and that He loves us and fulfills us like no one else can. And I gave specific examples of it.

Honestly, some of the most powerful testimonies and displays of God's awesome grace I have heard have come from people with horrible pasts...

It wasn't too hard. I haven't turned it in yet. I sent it to a nonbeliever friend who said she was so sorry for the things I had gone through and that she was there for me if I needed her. I thought I did it correctly by stating the mess it was before, how God turned it all around but she focused on the mess part. D'oh!
