A quick simple question here, has anyone read any material from Jack Deere? Just wondering cause a friend suggested some books of his, I trust your judgment..

He used to be a prof at Dallas Theological Seminary, that is until he couldn't agree with the school's statement of faith. He evidently went very charismatic. Wrote a couple of books, "Surprised by the Spirit" was one.

Are at least some of his books good, or is he another false prophet?

I went to his church for about a year when I first became a Christian. I thought he was a good teacher and never heard him preach anything unscriptural during service (as far as I know..of course I was a new Christian). I left his church because I found that some of his beliefs in my opinion aren't correct. He believes in Joel's Army for one. He also belives that God still raises apostles and prophets today. I confronted him of our need to pray for Israel, but he never would. The final straw came when he allowed dream interpretation teams to go out and interpret people's dreams but could only give credit to Christ if they seemed receptive to it. All in all I would be very discerning concerning his teaching. A little yeast works it way through the whole loaf!
