Keep an eye out on Larry King's CNN webpage (http://www.cnn.com/CNN/Programs/larry.king.live). At the top is who's on the upcoming show, and down below is who's on the next show. I think he maybe does three shows a week?

But down towards the bottom of the webpage is 'Upcoming Guests'. On the list of upcoming guests are Joe & Victoria Osteen. Given how many people view this man and his ministry and things he's said on previous Larry King shows, this is a must watch I think.

Just in case you're curious, here are Joel's two previous visits to Larry King (in transcript form):

From June 20, 2005 (http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0506/20/lkl.01.html)
From December 22, 2006 (http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0612/22/lkl.01.html)

I guess we'll have to keep an eye on Larry King's site to see when the Osteen's will be on.

At least he "admitted" on his second trip on the show that Christ is, in truth, the only way to Heaven. He sure seemed to hem-haw around about it, though. I think that lack of decisiveness is what disturbs me about him, frankly. Someone asks me on the street right now if I believe Jesus is the only way to heaven, I tell them flat-out "yes" without hesitation.

Never be ashamed of Our Lord and His Word. Never hesitate. Never stumble. Never seem to be uncertain or uncomfortable with what God has revealed or told you in the Scriptures.

What is sad, to me, is that Larry King seems to be more sure about what the Bible says on some things than Mr. Osteen.

God bless.

I agree with you watching.... and your last sentence is definitely a troubling observation.

Haha, you bet he has heard a lot of Scriptural Truth, since we know Larry King has Hosted a lot of Great Preachers and Scripture Teachers in some of His Programs, Billy graham, Late Dr. James Kennedy, John McArthur, Al Mohler, etc.

A date has been set!

Tuesday October 16th Larry King will have Joel & Victoria Osteen on his show (the show airs at 9pm, and ususally repeats that same night at midnight.)

Joel Osteen is making a huge impact in the world of Christianity these days... but WHAT KIND OF IMPACT is he making? Given what Joel said (or hasn't said) on his previous visits to Larry (see the OP for the links to the show's transcripts) I'm personally very curious to see how often Jesus Christ is proclaimed to be the only way to get to Heaven, and those that don't repent of their sins and put their trust in Him are going to Hell.

I might be actually be going to see Joel preach on my Birthday weekend. But if I go, I'm going with a discerning spirit.

Personally, I'd would be more excited if I were seeing Greg Laurie, Ron Luce, John Bevere, Ray Comfort or other decent preachers.

Well, seeing Joel live would give you the best opportunity to have a true opinion of him. All I can do is catch his show on tv, which isn't the same as sitting live in his church. If you do see him, you'll have to give the board your thoughts.

My mom's a Joel Osteen fan herself, but she would be shocked to discover his 1st appearance on Larry King Live. I myself was a bit surprised of when he didn't do a good job of defending the faith. However, I wouldn't mind visiting Lakewood church and meeting him.

It's just like the time I went to see Joyce Meyers months ago. The message, I think was probably decent, but I'll need help on Bible Study to show you guys a better understanding.

me too. Greg Laurie and John MacArthur I would rather see on Larry King http://www.prophecyfellowship.org/showthread.php?t=300307 than Osteen

Larry asked him, "if Jesus were alive today, would He be running a 19,000-seat church". I guess I can't fault the man too much for not having the perfect thing to say under pressure, but my first thought was that JESUS IS ALIVE TODAY.

I was also surprised when Joel told Larry K. that he doesn't use crosses at his church because he claims that they replaced it with a giant globe because they want to reach the world. All I can say is, that's a spirit of Universalism. It would be cool to see Ray Comfort preach at Joel's church. What would you guys think of that?

Well that Denial of the Cross and Embracing of the World is not evangelism but a love of the World and the things that are in the World. This is just one more false statement on his part (Joel's) and why this fellow must not be trusted or even be given the "Christian" tag, he doesn't preach the fundamental Thing Christ did, to Die on the Cross for the Sins of Man, so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

:twocents
I don't think he would be well received, i once saw a video in youtube about a street preacher preaching outside Lakewood church before a Service, the people were unresponsive to the Gospel at all, just passing to hear Joel's Feel good message.

I think if it ever happens it would be great teaching to them to really reach the World as Joel pretends.

I see what you mean. When I was looking at the ending of a Joel Osteen program where the camera was focusing on Joel and Victoria smiling, my dad said that they look like they're about to fall, "spiritually"

I actually posted a thread on that video on CGR. I'll show you a link of it when I find a way. The video was entitled, "Your Best Lie Now," right?

Ray Comfort preaching at Osteen's church has as much of a chance of happening as

Bill Keller of Live Prayer speaking at Northside Christian Church of Omaha Nebraska http://www.northsideomaha.org/AboutUs.asp

or a Bible Prophecy teacher such as Chuck Missler or Perry Stone or Ed Hindson speaking at

Brookside Church of Omaha Nebraska or King of Kings Lutheran Church of Omaha Nebraska or Westside Church of Omaha Nebraska

or at any number of other churches here in Omaha

I too wanted to shout "JESUS IS ALIVE TODAY". I can't believe those weren't the first words out of Osteen's mouth when Larry asked that question.

He also couldn't recall the name of David's son. He called him Sampson, then corrected it to Solomon. I can let that one slide due to nerves.

I've got the Larry King show tivo'ed so I haven't watched it yet. But I did read through the transcript of the show. What dissapoints me most is the how he barely mentioned the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how to be saved.

Here's the snipits that came closest to that:

J. OSTEEN: Well, Victoria grew up Church of Christ. They didn't, either. It's never -- I mean, Larry, our whole message is the fact Jesus came, he died on the cross, he rose that we might have an abundant life. So that's all that we stand for. People asked me that 50 years ago when my dad started a church. Instead of a cross, he put a world map behind him, because my father's passion was to reach every person all over the world. So, you know, we've had a globe for years. And when we -- I just continued the tradition.

J. OSTEEN: Yes, you know, I don't know, Larry. It's just, you know, it's different ways to present it. The gospel is translated good news. And to me, good news is letting people know that God loves them, that Jesus came, that we can overcome any obstacle, that we can -- we can be forgiven for our mistakes. And I don't see how beating people down every, you know, every time they get in front of me how that helps them to grow closer to God.

And so, you know, there's a scripture that says it's the goodness of God that leads people to repentance. And even though we don't beat people down, we see thousands of people come to know the Lord.

I'm sorry, but this man is being called the pastor of the largest church in the USA, is on tv in 100 countries, is selling millions and millions of copies of his books, and has just had an HOUR of prime-time TV coverage on the Larry King show.

If the best he can do to get out the Gospel is those two above quotes, then something is definitely not right.

You're Right Chris, Something IS NOT RIGHT with Osteen's ministry at all.

It wasn't even the Gospel just some wattered down version of it "Jesus came, he died on the cross, he rose that we might have an abundant life." :tsk :mad Outrageous and Unbiblical to say the least.
