He is an open theist. By the tone of a recent book (title escapes me...hit Amazon and look for recent publications), he's pretty anti-dispensational; from a quick scan of the book I'm thinking of, I couldn't tell (or at least I can't remember) how well he understood dispensationalism, however...

As to Letters, with the exception of the letter in which he defends open theism, I thought the book was pretty good.
