Emergent Village?

My mom just sent me some info about a "emerging church" called Emergent Village, and I was looking over some if and seem a bit confused. Does anyone know anything about this?
Has anyone heard of or read books by Brian Maclaren? (my mom knew him 30 years ago when he first got started in ministry and she said he was very influential in leading her to Christ) We were looking him up and thats when we learned about the whole emergent village thing.
It seems kinda off to me... what do you all think? I don't know how to explain my uncomfortableness with it to my mom!

I think this is a sad and a fulfillment to prophecy that in the end times people will leave the truth and go find preachers that will tell them what they want to hear. The emergents are so far from Biblical that its scary. Way of the Master talks about their "seeker friendly approach" to scripture a lot, you can check them out at www.wayofthemasterradio.com

Isn't it amazing to see thing prophecy play out in actual reality? Its so surreal to me.
