I found some more appalling stuff on the prosperity gospel. The 1st one is on TD Jakes & Joel Osteen; the 2nd is showing the ways that Steve Munsey is getting money!

1PETER 5:1 To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder, a witness of Christ's sufferings and one who also will share in the glory to be revealed: 2 Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers--not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.
JUDE 1:12 These men are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm--shepherds who feed only themselves. They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind; autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted--twice dead. 13 They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame; wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.

I only saw the first video with T.D. Jakes and Joel Olsteen, but what is wrong here? Yes, their ministries have expanded and yes, there is more money being made, but from what I can see, the gospel is being preached.

As for the first one: TD Jakes makes it sound like he's a prophet; he claims that Jesus is the "product", as if church is supposed to be a commercial; Joel Osteen is teaching the false notion that life will be heaven on earth when you become a Christian; I don't think that pastors should run their church like a business empire, while their basically a CEO; I also get the feeling that they think they're gods themselves.

God forgive me, but I really do find myself hating what these people are saying and doing. When I hear certian people preach; especially Creflo Mammon aka Creflo Dollar, Benny Hill aka Benny Hinn, and Joel self-esteem Olsteen, I have what I call a "David moment." You remember how David prayed concering his enemies? It really wasnt a nice thing? I know that we are in a period of Grace and that we should pray for these men to come to the faith, but I really do hate when try to pimp the gospel. Where's the icon to express my following feeling: "arggg!"

I disagree. Osteen is teaching a message of hope and improvement. He is but one voice in the choir. Each one of us has specific gifts.

Here is the official script of Joel Osteen on the Larry King Live show:

Read this and see Osteen deny that Christ is the only way to God and deny what His Word says about homsexuality, Muslims, etc.

Where does he deny Christ?
CALLER: Hello, Larry. You're the best, and thank you, Joe -- Joel -- for your positive messages and your book. I'm wondering, though, why you side-stepped Larry's earlier question about how we get to heaven? The bible clearly tells us that Jesus is the way, the truth and the light and the only way to the father is through him. That's not really a message of condemnation but of truth.
OSTEEN: Yes, I would agree with her. I believe that...
KING: So then a Jew is not going to heaven?
OSTEEN: No. Here's my thing, Larry, is I can't judge somebody's heart. You know? Only god can look at somebody's heart, and so -- I don't know. To me, it's not my business to say, you know, this one is or this one isn't. I just say, here's what the bible teaches and I'm going to put my faith in Christ. And I just I think it's wrong when you go around saying, you're saying you're not going, you're not going, you're not going, because it's not exactly my way. I'm just..

Kingdom Come-
The point I see with Joel Osteen's preaching is that he does not preach the whole Gospel of Jesus Christ. I do not hear him preach about God's Law, Sin, Judgment Day, Hell, pursuing holiness, that Christians will suffer persecution, the magnificent and glorious message of atonement that God offers through only his Son, Jesus Christ by his death on the cross, etc. etc. If you have seen him share these things from his messages, please show me.

If this money they make is being used to help the kingdom of God on earth (helping people in need) I think that would be okay... but looking at the luxurious lifestyle of these people I have great doubts. Didn't Jesus tell the apostles to go into the world without any money, even without a second coat? What a contrast!
You never hear from these tv guys that someone who cleans toilets or sweeps streets can be a very blessed believer. For them people are only blessed if they have a lot of money (blessed by the Mammon?)

1TI 6:3 If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching, 4 he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions 5 and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.
I am wary of anyone who preaches "godliness should lead to financial gain". This coupled with anyone who denies that 'Jesus came to Earth in Flesh" I steer right away from this kind. We are warned these men are deceivers.
2JN 1:7 Many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. 8 Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. 9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. 11 Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work.
The Bible makes it clear we should continue in the teaching of Christ & avoid these deceivers.
