On this day of days in which our Lord gave His life for us, I thought this old hymn would be appropriate:

The Old Rugged Cross

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

Refrain

So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.

Refrain

In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.

Refrain

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He’ll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I’ll share.

Refrain

Today is the day of salvation. Today is the day you can be set free from your shame, guilt, and despair. Today over 2000 years ago, God the Son willingly went to the cross for you, for me. On that cross all of our sin was paid for in full by the holy blood of Jesus. On that day when Jesus said "It is finished", the gulf between mankind and God was closed and mankind could be restored to the relationship of a child of God.

Today Jesus stands at the door of your heart and knocks. Answer and He will come in and be with you forever. Say yes to Jesus. Say yes to eternal life. Say yes to the One who is worthy of all of your love, obedience, and devotion.

Confess your sins, repent (turn away) from those sins and accept God's grace and love toward you.

Rom 5:8 But God commends His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
Rom 5:10 For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Rom 5:11 And not only so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the reconciliation.

The choice is yours. Choose wisely. Choose eternal life through Jesus our Lord and Savior.

I repeat, Today is the day of salvation. Let today be the first day of your new life.

Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
Eph 2:9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Accept God's grace and love. Please accept the greatest gift anyone could ever receive.

Jesus is Lord!

He is Risen!

Amen, Andy....

What a beautiful post.

What a beautiful Bridegroom we have.

A Bridegroom that would put the life of His bride before His own life.

A Groom that went to prepare a place for us to be with Him forever.

A Bridegroom that put His own Spirit inside of us to prepare us for His coming.

A Bridegroom that loves us as He loves Himself.

Please come, Yeshua. We long for You and miss You.

There is a country song called "They Don't Understand" by Sawyer Brown & while the whole song is extremely moving & brought tears to my eyes, I think this part which I've qouted is extremely important:
A man hanging on a wooden cross
giving everything to save the lost
everybody's staring
not knowing what he's going through
somebody said "you don't have a prayer
if you're the king come on down from there"
the man just turned his head
looked up and stared

He said "please forgive them
for they have not seen the light
but they'll come to know me
when I come back to life
and go to heaven
to make everything all right
so please forgive your children
they don't understand

Chorus:
Everybody's busy with their own situation
everybody's lost in their own little world bottled up,
hurried up, trying to make a dream come true
they don't understand
everybody's livin' like there ain't no tomorrow
maybe we should stop and take a little time
cause you never really know what your neighbor’s going through
they don't understand

Both songs are wonderful! Thanks for posting. I soo love this weekend!I get a bit quiet today, reflecting on what my Savior went through for me.His submission,His love.The thing that gets me every year is that I can no longer say I'm innocent.I know the sin that is still in my live, caused the pain He endured.When I choose to over look a sin in my life, I know what it cost Jesus my Lord.I am so thankful for His obedience and I'm filled with that unexpressible love for Him again!Thankfully Hes not finished with me yet, He'll finish the work He started.One day I'll stand beside Him perfected and what a glorious day that will be.

So my good Friday is a day of reflection and today is even better, as I was saved 10 years ago today! What an awesome feeling. I was saved on the same date that He hung on a cross to save me. Halellujah! I serve an awesome God.My Friday of reflection and prayer turns into a Sunday of rejoicing!Easter Sunday, the best day of the year!!! I must admit I get a bit fanatical. :D: :clap Right I've went on more than I meant to, but thanks for reading and may the Glorious Risen Lord fill you with such joy and peace this Easter, that you can hardly bear it. :hug

Great posts! I want a special Resurrection Sunday weekend for ALL who visit or frequent this board. May it be a safe and happy time, and may the True Spirit of Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday Fill us all.

While I'm at it, I could think of no better time for the rapture than a Resurrection Sunday. Maybe this one? :):

What a beautiful post. Thank you.
Our beautiful Savior, hanging in agony and loneliness! Did many care? No.
Did many understand, no.

I have cried so hard just thinking about Him. Oh what He did for you and for me.
How can anyone not love Him?

Can't you just imagine yourself sitting with Him in the Garden of Gethsamane that night trying to sit with Him, holding His hand and crying with Him? The thought of Him being in such agony leaves me heart broken. And.... He did it for me. He thought I was worth it.
