Ok I read everywhere in the Bible about being humble.
From James 3.."Be humble in the Lord's presence, and he will honor you. "
to name one time... but I wanted to know how you guys stay humble and more importantly what it means to stay humble
I got so far that:
1)Know I am nothing without God
2)My works can't get me into heaven, they can only please God by showing him my faith
3) Don't brag about anything ?
4) Know that God is your king and you are serving him
5) Thank him for everything
Am I on the right track, like I just want to know what Paul and the writers of the Bible meant when they said to be humble

This is key for me: Philippians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

Just try to get into His presence every day! When I sit in His presence, His love and light show up my every flaw!Very humbling and it will take any pride away, except pride in Him. :kiss

Humble the definition:
1. Marked by meekness or modesty in behavior, attitude, or spirit; not arrogant or prideful.
2. Showing deferential or submissive respect: a humble apology.
3. Low in rank, quality, or station; unpretentious or lowly: a humble cottage
Word studies are great. Now we know we can't be humble on our own, but by the Holy Spirit who indwells us and teaches us we can be taught. When you study words you will not be surprised when these traits start showing up in you though His work in you.

I see it as being the opposite of the "wise in your own eyes" mentioned throughout the Old Testament. As long as I keep in mind that His ways/thoughts are higher than mine, that helps keep me humble before Him. Plus the fact that if I don't humble myself, He'll do it for me.

Good posts.
Ok I read everywhere in the Bible about being humble.
Jesus is our literal example. He literally had all power, knowledge and authority, yet He came down to earth to save us, even while we spat on Him. And He opened His mouth not..... That, is humility.
He has told us we are seated in heavenly realms, we are heirs and share His throne. Take His literal example and run with it, because He has given you the ability to walk like He walked. (the way to see true humility, is to grow in the knowledge and grace of our Lord Jesus the Christ)

Jesus had all power. He did not have to die. He could have called down thousands of angels. But He laid down His own life. He humbled Himself. The King of kings let Himself be shredded and hung naked on a cross. He was all powerful, but chose not to use that power. That is what humble is.
Humble is cleaning up the mess others who should know better leave behind without pointing it out as if you alone are perfect in this world.
Humble is listening to your mother and father tell the same old stories for the hundreth time and smile through it like it is the first time you heard it because maybe it will be their last story they tell before they die.
Humble is refusing to think that you would never do that awful thing that someone else did. Like as if you are just so much more better than that.
Humble is accepting that you will never know it all.
Humble is really looking at yourself and admitting that what you did was a horrible thing to do and you lower to yourself before your God and pray.
Sometimes being humble is easy. And sometimes it is so very hard.
