For the last few days, I've felt an absolute compulsion to pray for the pastors that I know. I've been praying that God would fill them with His Spirit - that they would cast off manmade doctrine & theology and that they would be filled only with His truth. I've been praying almost desperately that God would help remove anything that might hurt them spiritually or hurt their congregations, before it's too late.

I have no explanation for why I feel the need to do this. Have any of you felt the same way?

Prayer is a powerful tool, I wake up at 3:30 most evey night with 2 or 3 people on my mind, never the same ones, I pray and go back to sleep.

Yes. I started praying last night. I also prayed that there would be more pastors who are raised up in the faith and are trained with the right knowledge.

The annointing that you have received abideth in you and you need not that any man teach you.

The purpose and pleasure of the Holy Spirit is to lead us into all truth, if a pastor is assuming that position then stumbling will occur for all that trust in that arm of flesh.

May we be led by the Spirit of God at all times, that in our walk we will not stumble, and may all people in positions of authority (self appointed or otherwise) encourage believers to Seek first the Kingdom of God and his Righteousness.

Accordingly, the Holy Spirit works in them through their gift, to minister to us in the appropriate capacity. Not in place of the Holy Spirit, but His to use for our benefit and His glory.

i have been attending the same church for about 6 years...we had the same pastor the entire time, and he was incredibly gifted--i learned so much from him...he was let go earlier in the year for due to some act of immorality --- anyway---i was disappointed completely, but i pray for him so much and fear he is lost now...

as a result, our church of course, has been on a pastor search...we have found a candidate that has made it to the final round. he is a great speaker and he is influential with his presentation...but he full-out professed his support of the emergent church..he defended it completely even when 3 of us questioned him on it. he was subsequently voted in, and now we are just waiting for him to officially accept.....

so...yes...i pray for pastors...i cannot imagine how difficult it would be for them to have the pressure of leading/growing a church and sticking to the truth....against the worldy pressures and increasing need for people to hear things that make them feel good....but...unfortunately, many seem to buy into the wordly doctrine and not the Godly doctrine....

praying with you....
