View Full Version : A big rise in hate lately

Not really sure how to approach this subject. Different people have brought it up from time to time on the board.
It feels like something has been happening with people recently. Maybe it's just in my small corner of the world.
It's like this...I've had more relatives and friends turn against me lately for absolutely no apparent reasons. I mean people who do not know each other, and, in several cases, people whom I haven't talked to for quite a while. I have a sympathetic, concilatory type of personality, and am sensitive to these things. That being the case, I've thought a lot about it.
I'm not presenting this as a personal matter, because I don't think it is. There is a verse about the love of many growing cold, and there is also another verse about, I believe, daughters turning against their mothers, and sons turning against their fathers.
There seems to be a large division taking place. Anyone else been seeing anything like this?

Oh, I know within the world, there is little doubt. I'm talking specifically about my own doorstep, so to speak. More or less, friends, neighbors, and relatives.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems to me like I'm seeing and hearing more things spewed out of "so-called" Christian's mouths these days that I feel are certainly displeasing to God. Hatred, bitterness and anger can be expected from non-believers, but Christians??? Sometimes I feel we aren't doing the best job representing our Lord (we means myself as well) :redface
I really do just want to sit right down and bawl my eyes out :cry sometimes and not so much for the world as I do for so-called "professing" Christians. It really does break my heart and I know it must be breaking Jesus' as well.
Lord, please help us to tame our tongue (and our typing) and help us to be more pleasing in your eyes in our actions, words, thoughts and deeds......in Jesus' name, Amen

Hi All.
I think that you are right about Christians not representing the Lord as we should. I think a lot of Christians spend way to much time arguing between each other than telling none believers about salvation in our Lord & saviour.
Ok we all have our own idea's on certain Biblical issues but a lot of these issues are not dependant on salvation. In this short time we have left we should be proclaiming the word of God & not fighting among ourselves.
I also agree with that fact that there is a lot of hatred going around it is getting worse & worse each day now. These things are happening for what seems no reason at all. You are right about Father against son, Mother against Daughter, brother against sister & so on. This does seem to be getting worse. General respect for anyone has just gone out of the window, there is no real respect given by anyone now. Most people are stuck in there own little cocoon & let no one enter that space. Just the looks of hatred given is baffling as to why is this happening.
I think there are lots of sign's that are flashing in neon all over the world that we are in the last days. We are in the end times, wherever you look all sign's point to that fact, from wars & roomers of wars, famines, diseases general respect & the best pointer of all Israel & Jerusalem. What does it say about this place in the end times. Anyone with just a small amount of knowledge must see that all these things are happening now, we are now at any other time in the worlds history at a point where all these things are happening at once.
We are so close to our Lord calling us home. The best thing we can all do is to stay close to him & keep watching & waiting.
God Bless you all

It is a sign of the times. Although the economy is to be doing well people are having it tough because everything in this world is costing just to much money. Prices on everything are just too high. Normal life is not possible anymore. People are becoming short fused.
Read Isaiah 24 and it describes what is coming on the world. Its ugly.
Matthew 24:12
"And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold."

I had two odd things happen to me yesterday. A good friend just decided to go to Rome to become a Priest. My Catholic friends unloaded on me. An elder in my Church then gave me a John MacArthur CD in which he explains his hatred for Catholic institutions.
Whatever to both of them.
I just need time to more spend time with the Lord.
