I've noticed that RRBB has been getting more new members and that many of them are new Christians.
:welcome
Perhaps a thread would be helpful to learn which ancient names apply to modern places as we watch biblical prophecy unfold. Something I'm continuing to learn myself.:):

The maps were interesting, but I was really hoping to see a LIST of ancient cities that have been re-named like prairiedog started. I do better with "lists" then "maps."
Gog is Russia, right?

Gog is Russia, right?'Gog' is a person. 'Magog' is a place.
(Eze 38:2-3) Son of man, set your face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief ruler of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him. And say, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the chief ruler of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal.
(Eze 39:1) Therefore, son of man, prophesy against Gog and say, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the chief ruler of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal.
FYI, the KJV doesnt include 'Rosh'...
Personally I think they refer to parts of Armenia and Asia Minor (Turkey), though parts of extreme SW Russia wouldnt be too far off...
Interesting paper here... http://www.biblicalstudies.com/bstudy/eschatology/ezekiel.htm

I read that "interesting paper" that you put the link to, and I was surprised! I have ALWAYS thought that Gomer was Germany. Actually, I think I "still" do. :)

Gomer is actually closer to Turkey.... the area in and around the Black Sea.
I've got an old map (REALLY old) somewhere that I was looking at last night in Hebrew and it had Gomer up in that area.
Edited to add:
Nablus ( in the """West Bank""") is Shechem of the bible.

Rosh = Head/King/Chief/Ruler

Rosh = Head/King/Chief/RulerI know. I was just throwing that out there for those who want to associate 'Rosh' with 'Russia'...
