I know I am supposed to do everything to God's glory. But I am finding it hard. Like with my baking, I always get complements on it and it makes me feel good. But how do I give the glory to God for it. The other day at church we had a 'patriotic' dessert fellowship and 'judging' of sorts for whose was the most patriotic. During church, I told God that it didn't matter if I won, but I wanted to give Him the glory for the talent He's given me for baking. I did end up winning, after a coin toss.:rolleyes :laugh But when they congratulated me, I didn't know what to do. Do I just take the congratulations or praise, or should I say something like, "It's blessing from God."

There is the pride we feel in doing a job well, of working hard using the gifts and talents that our Lord has given us in which He receives all of the glory.
Where pride is a sin is when we elevate ourselves and everything is about the "I" word. I did this, I am this, I will......and so forth. This is not giving the honor, credit, and glory to our Lord.

I usually thank God for giving me my talent for baking. If it wasn't for Him I'd probably bake like my mom; and you DON'T want to go there. ;):

You are so right!
We did a study on "pride", and the moment someone uses the "I" word. :nod
