very humbling..to hear of our brothers and sisters who go through so much--are persecuted harshly for their faith--(blessed are they...)

i feel so privileged to live where i do-to have the freedom to worship that i have. ..Father help me to serve You with everything you've given to me in ways where these 'privileges' can be used for Your glory! and never taken for granted :pray

One of the events that shaped my faith was listening to a speaker from the Sudan who was tortured for his faith. This man's faith was so strong, yet so simple: Christ died for his sins and as a result he wanted to do good and share the Good News with others.

He suffered so much but ended his talk by praying for those of us in attendance. I never forgot that. The ministry was Operation Nehemiah (http://www.operationsnehemiah.org)

.. i know exactly what you mean by having someone like that shape your faith...

for the past several months, i've been in much contact with some local Missionaries/Evangelists from India...weekly email contact...Brother Kumar mainly asks for prayer...and in return they pray, and pray, and pray, for me and my entire family in return....it is incredibly humbling...these are people who don't have hardly anything, yet go out and preach the Gospel --(they walk the streets with a big speaker attached to a bicycle and walk beside it preaching into mike :): while others in the group hand out pamphlets and pray for the people along the roads!-), feed the poor, clothe the naked, care for the sick, take care of orphaned children..etc..with what they can get through 'faith basis' only (through donation)...doing just what Christ asked us to do! and their faith in Jesus is SO strong....so very inspiring.. and the LORD is teaching me so much through them...
(they live with the threat of persecution from radical Hindu sects that target Christian Missionaries and Evangelists)
their ministry is Indian Mission's For Christ
