What do Protestant evangelicals and devout Roman Catholics have in common?
It is Christ. Christ as God is the foundation upon with both base their entire lives.

I have some catholic friends who still "long" for the pre-Vatican II traditions and rules, but are much more open to fellowshipping with evangelicals than most catholics normally were before Vatican II. Having grown up Lutheran in those days, we were taught to stay away from them and I am pretty sure they were taught the same about evangelicals. :lol

I disagree with some of his point...
I often think that many more Protestants and Roman Catholics would benefit in soul if they put aside what they know to be legitimate doctrinal disagreements. They do not need to compromise one of those disagreements.
There are KEY issues that we don't agree on, such as Mary being the co-savior, and prayers to the saints for sin forgiveness, and there's no grounds for the ideas of baptism. (not a sinlge child was baptised in the bible)
When they teach these things as parts of salvation, they teach a perverted gospel. If someone isn't in the understanding of what Christ did, and how He is our only path to God, then they can't be saved.

Do you honestly think that when a mother and father was baptized by one of the apostles that they didn't include their children? Jewish babies are circumcised on the 8th day of their life as a sign of their parents faith. Then later in life when they are older they have a bat or bar mitsva. Christians can reaffirm their faith when they get older also.
