Our power went out for about 1 minute. Its the hottest day of the year plus I immediately thought terrorist attack :tin . I am soooo thankful it came back on. Funny how after 911 and the last great blackout I immediately go into survival mode when things like this happen. I was literally ready to start filling bath tubs, shutting blinds etc......:laugh
I would imagine that tomorrow we may have rolling blackouts if it stays this hot........

We lose ours so regularly that I never even consider terrorist attacks--more like high wind, lightening, squirrel-chewing or just plain utility problems. :nod


We invested in a generator a few years ago. Wise investment. :thumb

oh bother! Here I am again:doh
... when our power goes out, it is usually due to a storm;

yesterday DD#4 and I went to the grocery store during a bad storm! There was lightning strikes all around while we were driving.

While in the store, my daughter wondered about the storm and maybe we should head home - she had wanted some craving foods, and I figured I'd go and get some supplies - and I told her, no...

There wasn't anything to worry about, of course. If the store lost power, then we may be stuck inside ... but they can get the doors open ... :pound we just wouldn't have the salt, chocolate, or pickles!:wacko

Ours never goes out; so this was :freaked . We may have one day in the Summer where we have a brown out but other than the Great Blackout we have never loss power for very long. We have a generator; have never used it :clap but its nice to have; just in case.....

Quess my family is right; I'm nuts :nod :tin

Electric here went out at least 3 times today that I am aware of. No storms but it was 92degrees.
