The Hebrew word, karan, means “to shoot out beams of light,” but has by mistake been translated in some versions “to wear horns.”
Thus Moses is conventionally represented with horns.
Exodus 34:29 Now when Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two stones in his hand, he was not conscious that his face was shining because of his talk with God.
compare with:
II Corinthians 3:13 We are not like Moses. His face was shining, but he covered it to keep the people of Israel from seeing the brightness fade away.
