new christian music channel

Revelation TV now have a new christian music chanel on SKY 370.

Its listed amoung MTV and VH1 .

They want to use it as a from of outreach for those who are flicking through the music chanels . They also show some secular music but not quite in the same way as MTV.

I was saddened to me a bit as there was this band called Embrace singing this song entitled 'Looking for love' . The video opened up with an attractive young lady probebly a well known model geting up in the morning with her underwear, and I thought why show this , we have enough problems with half naked women on MTV.

Ok it was'nt as bad as MTV as every other video is almost soft porn on the main secular music chanels but I do feel that there might be some comprimise here and sadly can make some brothers stumble.

That's the trouble with CCM. You have band members that want to be like rock stars. They hire experienced producers from the secular world that plug them into worldly situations that compromise their beliefs and lifestyles. Next thing you know the only difference between a Christian bands public personna and the world's is in the lyrics and quite frequently they get watered down to be meaningless. Or worse, Christian bands start doing cover songs of secular tunes.

I am not saying that all secular music is nessessary evil , there are loads of old classics I have no problem listening to or enjoying, the only problem I have is when it promotes sexual immorality or rebellion or the occult.

I myself am a musicain and occasionally play with a voilin player in resturants and we do lots of cover songs but I am careful of which songs I pick, they are many songs that I refuse to sing, i.e Imagineby John Lennon or anything by Marylin Manson(If you can call that music.LOL)

The problem I see is when a music station that claims to promote christian music starts going a bit bellow the belt as with this video which left a lot to ones imagination from the opening scene .Infact I don't think Embrace are a christian band.

Again, I agree. The distinction is that when you play in restaurants you are not billing yourself as a Christian musician, are you?

We are in agreement. I will go a little bit further and say that I don't think Christian bands should re-do secular songs. What's the point?

Thats right Enlightment.

I think the sad thing is when christians feel they have to do secular music as a form of outreach to attract the unsaved as if the gospel needs something else extra to do the job.

The other sad thing I have noticed with this channel is that they have R Kelly doing his new video . Ok he does a gospel song but I have heard him do gospel songs before and then I have seen him in his next video do something sexual.

I think christians should be wise in who they let on there shows, some secular artist will play the gosple card just to reach a new crowd of people mainly christians who are gullible.

Revelation TV does have some very good gospel artist perform on there show plus they do some great interviews with people like 'Ken Ham , David Doolan etc plus they have a heart for Isreal and for that I rejoice.

their is JC TV but i dont think thats really CCM more like infernal rock{not really music for the soul more for fuelling the rebelious spirit
