There is an excellent talk by pastor Rick Phillips , who is a senior pastor of a church in florida on www.vcyamerica.org go to Crosstalk when you open the website and then go to Recent programmes and then go to April 13th and you will see a interview with Ingrid and Pastor Rick talking about the Atonment.

You'll see three words in red and next to where it says VIEW scroll to List.
What I liked about this interview is that pastor Rick really stands for the Atonment and really sees the dangers of the megachurches which leave out this clear doctrine of the cross , he does mention Steve Chalke quite a bit and reviews his book 'The Lost Message of Jesus'.
Steve Chalke is one of the main UK evangelical leaders and also denies the doctrine of the atonment.he states that those who believe in the atonment believe God is into cosmic child abuse pouring his wrath on Jesus for our sins.

He makes some very interesting points about the way Steve often quotes secular psycholagist(sorry can't spell) and socialogist to back up his claims.

I thought pastor Rick was straght to the point about us getting back to Biblical truth.

Its is an excellent talk , he says thinks so clearly in a nutshell.

he also mentions the tendancy in mega churches to preach mainly about life skills,i.e 'How to cope with stress' etc rather then meaty doctrine , he was saying very little is been taught about how we are sinners and the main issue of us humbling ourselves before Almighty God and key issues like repentance.

Wow ! I was blown away by this interview . Its a must listen too and a clear warning to many churches.

That blessed me, and is something I had not yet heard about.

I guess we should not be suprised. This is simply the next step from being (supposedly) "seeker friendly". More like "sin friendly", and "seeker destructive" if you ask me?

Thanks again.

I am glad you too were blessed LaMontre, I thought Pastor Rick really explained things so well he painted an accurate picture of what is happening in our churches.

Praise The Lord.
