Not sure if this should go here or Christian chat :confused , so mods, if I put it in the wrong place, sorry!:(:
Anyway, a few weeks back, I posted a comment about "why do we have a apple for an avatar that has the rainbow in it" (to me it looked like something the Gay's would use)
Anyway, I was educated in that thread, that one, it was the mac apple (OK, I felt stupid)
And two, that a few people here liked to use the rainbow to reclaim God's promise back from the gay community.
ANYWAY, I have been thinking about it alot, and I think that I am going to devise some kind of sticker showing that, I, AS A CHRISTIAN, AM RECLAIMING GOD'S PROMISE.
What do you guy's think of that? It's a bit scary because I live in GAY LONG BEACH, CA. which is a little San Francisco. I might get my tires slashed or something!:doh :lol
It would be easy to do because my husband is a graphic artist, and we co-own with my father, a company that can make labels and stickers.
What are your thoughts?

Honestly, what would be the point of such a bumper sticker? Most people, even many Christians, would see such a thing as mean-spirited or in bad taste. I really doubt 'reclaiming the rainbow' will win any gay people over to a Christian way of thinking either. It should be our job to attract people to Christ, not find any way possible to ruffle feathers.

good idea, be sure to have 4 spare tires...
and drive a old car (they will scatch your car too)
although I do agree with the poster above. But I also know that if gay communities keep growing, then we would not have any godly environment to raise our children.

I'd like a version that has an ark with a couple animals sticking out of it on one end of the rainbow and the end saying "God keeps His promises". May draw out some conversations in other cars such as "Mommy what does that mean?":):

as an artist I am sickened by what the gay community has done to the beauty of the rainbow, not only as God's signal of His promise, but at the sheer genious of light refracting in a prisim of swirrling hues...
ever really look at a rainbow? it isn't just red orange yellow green blue and violet....oh the wonder of the hues inbetween!!!
God IS the ulitimate artist and His creations are being muddied and trampled on left and right...
I think re claiming the rainbow is not only important but nessecary. The fact that a christian could look at a rainbow and have thier first thought be gay rights is....I can't put words together...
I relaize not everyone sees the hues that an artist sees, so I understand that to some this may seem trival, but it really isn't...
when was the last time a sunset took your breathe away? or when on a cloudy day the clouds parted way and the sun was just in the right part of the sky where you saw beams , rays of lights casting down on this fallen world?
When was the last time the mist begining to hover over the tree tops stole your tears away? or the rain, making your tears fall easier, danced on the wooden deck outside your sliding door?
God hand created everything and while we take for granted the very breath's we breathe, we can not let what God intended for beauty to be stolen and turned into abolmination and disgust....it IS important, and if a gay person is offened by a christain reclaiming the promise that came with that rainbow, then pray for them, but do not worry about what they think about you, rather what our Heavenly Father thinks about you....
I know alot of people in my life I wish thought better of me, but My Heavenly Father, My Amazing Creator, THEE original artist, His opinion of me is more vauleable than precious gems....
sorry I got over whelmed there....

DH and I were just talking about the ark idea. And for sure they would have to NOT be cute little baby animals. I am so excited to get going on this.!!!

Oh I know I am so porbably bugging you, but here goes;):
heres the thing, I am HUGE creationist, totally believe six days create, 7th day rest....anyway, I also believe that dinosaurs were on the ark, and one step further I believe dragons were too, now I know that it may not be main stream but is certianly is biblical, in Job God discribes what many feel is a dragon...I do know that dragons have been seen as evil and sure I wouldn't be knocked over surprised if there are evil ones, but none the less i think dragons dinos stuff like that hanging over the side of the ark would really be an eye catcher!!
talk about a conversation starter...ok going now:redface

and I do have alot of resources that can help anyone curious why I think both dinos and dragons were on the ark, a really great web site is answersingenisis.org
but also just studing scripture can show us how these animals would not have been a threat to humans before the flood as it was only after the flood God gave noah and his sons permmsion to eat the beasts of the land, piror to they all ate grains herbs ect... plus studies of the earths layers show a consistent change in the whole earth at the same time, showing huge and fast changes like that of a great flood, and scienstist have even admitted that it would be possible to flood the whole earth, But that in order to have enough water to do so it would also require large comets to hit earth releasing there own source of water adding just enough to cap things off, and that would also fit in with the idea that a huge bang killed off all the dinos!! it all fits, just not the way man says it does....(sorry I get really worked up on this topic, but basicly I think noahs ark is grossly underestimated and held wonderous animals crafted by Gods artistic Hands...:redface ) :tape :tape :tape
ok I will go now I promise....

I hate that they use the beautiful rainbow as their symbol because I love rainbows and appreciate their beauty from God, however, I don't buy anything with rainbows because of what they have come to be associated with..
