View Full Version : Advice for an ulcer
Waiting...
April 2nd, 2006, 09:31 PM
Hey everyone. I have been diagnosed with having an ulcer. I am only 37 (Yikes). Anyway, I love to drink green tea, coffee, and Dr. Pepper (which probably led to the ulcer). Are there any alternatives to hot tea or coffee? I need to sip on a warm drink constantly as I work. Without tea or coffee, what else is there that will not irritate the ulcer?
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi Waiting, check with your GI doctor because their are so many different types of ulcers and so much depends on the type.
Good luck will pray for you :)

Well from what I am reading from a certain health site, milk is not safe for individuals with ulcers. Personally I think dairy products are poisonous to humans (but what isn't these days). I will give you the sites where I get my information from and then you can draw your own conclusions. I'll pray that you regain your stomach health.

I don’t guarantee that everything on these sites is correct.

There are many good herbal teas out there. They are really not teas, but tisanes. We just call them teas. :D: Most are really good tasting. There is the ever favorite Camomile and also lots of good fruit flavored ones. Blackberry is especially good. Also lots of mint teas. Lots of stores sell 'variety packs'. Pick up one of those to give you an idea of what might appeal to you. These should not bother you stomach.
Hope this helps and that you are feeling better soon. {{hugs}}

Certain types of ulcers are caused by bacteria in the intestinal tract. Talk to a doctor who specializes in intestinal health. It MIGHT be as simple as being on a course of antibiotics.
