Daily Devotionals

I went to find a daily devotional. Something not really for a woman or wife and mother but just solid biblical life application devotion.

We only have one christian bookstore and the selection is slim. Most of the devotions I picked up and glanced through didn't include any reference to scripture. In many the author used different little stories from either personal experience or others experience but didn't relate it back to scripture.

Anyone have one they use that they really like, or know of any to avoid? Ideas for ones that are not for young christians but rather with some real meat to them?

I usually buy most of my Christian books on line at www.christianbooks.com They just have a MUCH larger selection then the Christian book stores around here.

I enjoy "Experiencing God Day-by-Day" by Henry T. Blackaby and Richard Blackaby.

There is one page given for each day of the year. On each day a scripture is given and then a devotion related to the scripture that many times uses even more scripture to expound on the main scripture.

It also includes a topical index (if you want to find a devotion on a certain topic instead of going by the date) and a scripture index (if you want to read a devotion on a certain scripture).
