I don't know how many of you remember this song, but here are the lyrics. I hope some of you are blessed by it.

I Wish We'd All Been Ready

Life was filled with guns and war
and all of us got trampled on the floor
I wish we'd all been ready

Children died the days grew cold
a piece of bread could buy a bag of gold
I wish we'd all been ready

There's no time to change your mind
the Son has come and you've been left behind

A man and wife asleep in bed
she hears a noise and turns her head he's gone
I wish we'd all been ready

Two men walking up a hill
one disappears and one's left standing still
I wish we'd all been ready

There's no time to change your mind
the Son has come and you've been left behind

Children died the days grew cold
a piece of bread could buy a bag of gold
I wish we'd all been ready

There's no time to change your mind
the Son has come and you've been left behind

The Father spoke
the demons dined
how could you
have been so blind

There's no time to change your mind
the Son has come and you've been left behind

I hope we'll all be ready
you've been left behind
I hope we'll all be ready
you've been left behind
I hope we'll all be ready
you've been left behind

This was originally a Larry Norman tune, wasn't it? Remember the 70s movie "A Thief in the Night" that opened with this song?

That's right. This song comes from that movie.

Larry Norman, alright! (See my avatar ;): ) This is my favorite of his songs and is one my youth group used to sing way back in the Jesus People days of the 70s.

Thanks for the remainder kittykat.

That movie scared me to death. It was a big help in leading me to salvation.

I must have seen that movie 50 times (probably 50 times for the sequals too). My father owned a film projector, and would show it on Sunday nights at all the little churches of the denomination we were involved in (A/G). I'm not sure if I would call it a positive or a negative experience for me. It's hard to understand assurance of salvation when you are eight years old, and I can't tell you how many times I thought the rapture had occurred and I didn't go.

Then again, it did kindle an interest in the rapture for me that continues to this day....and I am sure of my salvation now....so it wasn't all bad.
