When you're done, read "The Christ Clone Trilogy". It runs rings around Left Behind, in my opinion. And it's only 3 books!

The thing I'd be wary of when reading these kind of books is that although they're well-researched and the writers have good intentions, you have to remember that they are only hypothetical works. Many prophesies are pretty vague and I'd be careful not to get one particular scenario stuck into my head. What if the non-believers who read these books (I know several) aren't able to recognize the clearly recognize the real rapture when it occurs because they are lead to believe something different would happen? This could be especially confusing since many people who believe they are Christian won't be taken (Matthew 7:21-23).

I have read them all and they are the main reason I am saved today! It made me curious enough to ask the right questions of the right people. Praise God for His mercy & grace :D:

Hi CheryLOK2, I'd never heard of the book you noted, so I did a web
search.... here's the link:

:wave POBsn, yes, i see your concern. even when we read or watch a
movie 'scenes' do get stuck in our head, and we get an 'expectation',
I can point to examples, I remember when The Omen series at the movies
came out....'everyone' expected the AC to be a European....no one even
considered an Arabian or Jewish person....and the slant for that series
didn't even really show any aspect of the Jewish Nation going thru
tribulation....only WASPs....that mindset is still with us so much to the
fact that even the Left Behind series follows that lead! :doh
Another funnier story is my friend and I were having a discussion about
The Exodus and how the Israelites came thru the Red Sea....she said that
the Israelites were rushing out of the riverbed and in sheer panic and terror.
I told her that that was the 'image' presented in the Cecil B DeMille movie,
and it wasn't Scriptural....we had a big laugh over that...but you hit on an
important fact of how we become influenced by what we see and hear!!!
Exd 14:19 And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel,
removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before
their face, and stood behind them: 21-22 And Moses stretched out his hand
over the sea; and The LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east
wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were
divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the
dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and
on their left. 24-25 And it came to pass, that in the morning watch The LORD
looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the
cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians, And took off their chariot
wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us
flee from the face of Israel; for The LORD fighteth for them against the
Egyptians. 27 And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea
returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled
against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

I was disappointed too with the movies. I read all the books including the prequels(sp?) and now I am reading them for the third time. It is amazing how much I don't remember happening and how much I didn't pay attention to until I read them for a second time.

Probably because you read too fast!:laugh I tend to do the same thing. I could read one of the books in two hours uninterrupted. I never actually clocked myself though.:heh

I read all the Left Behind novels. Very fun reads. Read Book #5 in a 22 hour period (believe it or not). I still think the Christ Clone Trilogy is MUCH better though. They are the most entertaining books I have ever read.

I read the first 5 or 6 LB novels, but lost interest in the characters. (I primarily read "character-driven" stories as opposed to LB, which are "plot-driven") I was still interested in how it all turned out, so I read "Glorious Appearing" and really enjoyed it.
Haven't tried the Clone novels yet.

I found the LB series to be very character driven.... But thats just me.

I agree. I really like the Left Behind series too. The prequels provide a great background for the main characters. The background of Nicolae Carpathia and Leon Fortunato were particularly fascinating.

They were really good reads, I thought, as long as you remember they're fiction.
