Hi,

It took me forever to get registered on here, but I'm glad I finally was able to. I have a few questions I'm sure some of you can answer.

1. I have read that people sleep in the grave once they die, and they are awaiting the second coming of Jesus. I have always thought that people go directly to heaven after they die. What happens?

2. I have read in places that eternity does not mean forever. It only means a certain period of time (some say 1,000 years or whatever). It was translated wrong or something like that. BUT that would mean that eternal life doesn't actually mean we live forever with Jesus. What's the truth with this?

3. I was born again in November, It was a very tough time for me. It was a brutal spiritual war in my mind. I was scared, I didn't eat, and nearly stopped breathing one night. I got through it, and I am a new person. I was wondering, why was this such a depressing time?

4. I was baptized when I was 4, do I need to be baptized again???

1. Read Luke 16, so yes we go to heaven

2. God has no beginning or ending, so eternity does mean forever. I think Jesus used the word forever when he spoke about the lake of fire, but I have to look up the verse.

3. Read Job

4. You don't necessary need to re baptize unless you want to confess your faith to the church. Baptize, IMHO, is like a wedding ceremony. When you have a wedding, you are allowing people to witness your vows to your spouse.

Hi Rise Up

Glad to here you got saved, that is wonderful. Satan did not want that to happen, you were caught in the middle of a war.

1. I have read that people sleep in the grave once they die, and they are awaiting the second coming of Jesus. I have always thought that people go directly to heaven after they die. What happens?
When we die our body goes into the grave, but our souls go to be with the Lord. 2 Cor. 5:8 Our souls come back with Him at the rapture and are reunited with our body, at which time our bodies are changed into our eternal, glorified bodies. 1 Thes 4:14-17

2. I have read in places that eternity does not mean forever. It only means a certain period of time (some say 1,000 years or whatever). It was translated wrong or something like that. BUT that would mean that eternal life doesn't actually mean we live forever with Jesus. What's the truth with this?
We are going to live forever. John 6:54 The millennium is for a thousand years, but that is just the beginning of eternity for us.

4. I was baptized when I was 4, do I need to be baptized again???
Baptism is the first act of obedience that Jesus asks of believers after they get saved. It identifies us with Him. It is us declaring to the world what Jesus has done for us. Jesus just saved you, it would be good for you to declare that to the world.

God Bless
