Are you looking for courses for credit, or some classes where you study for your own edification?

If you wish serious study there are Seminaries which have "distance learning" courses for credit.
I think there are some which are virtually ... on-line (pun intended) ...

For credit.Chafer Theological Seminary has had some ... but it looks like they are down just now. Site says back Jan 06 ... (use the "distance learning" link).
http://www.chafer.edu/
They have a number of Doctrinal links to see what they stand for.
If I were you I would call them and not just wait for their site.
It sounds as if they have bursaries or some kind of funding available too (special circumstances).

Are there differences between courses? If I take the course that Joy is taking, for example, might there be major differences in the subject matter or basic principles compared to another groups course?

Nazarene Bible College is an accredited Bible college, doctrinally sound, offering various degrees. Their distance learning program is awesome. It's definitely worth your looking into. I'm going to be enrolling in August.

If one takes a course in Systematic Theology for example ... one studies the subject from all angles.
So under the topic of Eschatology it would include the study of aMil-Pre-Post-Mid and every other which way to look at it.
Of course each Professor would say what his college believe and there might be (:heh) a MUCH greater emphasis on the particular flavour which they favour.
Dallas Theological Seminary would no doubt be fairly close to it's founder ... Dr. Sperry Lewis Chafer (although I have heard they may have drifted some). So Chafer was a Pre-Mill staunch Dispensationalist ... along the lines of C I. Scofield. Familiar to a lot of fundamentalists.
BUT that is no firm or fast rule. To make things more confusing ... :B: each Professor likely has an opinion of their own which they no doubt gladly share when ever there is an audience.
But they wouldn't likely wander too far or their career wouldn't amount to much.
These types of Schools would be fairly straight forward ... Bible believers one way or another.
However some of the old Schools ... hardly believe in anything anymore. You can still take Religious Studies at a Harvard or Yale I am sure. But it might just include Buddha and Confucius along with Jesus and Scripture.

Ah, so it will be just like majoring in Philosophy in college. :rolleyes
Thanks for your reply!! I am going to do it. :thumb

Robin:
The course I suggested is Systematic Theology and it has helped me understand RR posters and where they are coming from when they have a different understanding of scripture than I.......I lilke it that they present all the angles, and tell you where they originated from, etc. I only finished the first ten lessons.....the videos on-line are very easy to watch, and I like the personalitites doing the teaching....plus there is a message board that you can go on to discuss the lessons....
I will admit that the first few I listened to and took notes, I had to listen to a couple of times because I was not familiar with a lot of the theology words....
but, now, it seems to be easier to grasp. I am thinking of listening to the first ten once more, just to refresh what I heard......
to edit: when the instructors presented the sides, they even told you how the sides were argued....so that you could draw your own conclusions, except of course, on the absolutes of the Bible.
Listen to a few without signing up, you can.....
