John 3:16

Just wanting some suggestions. I would point to an omnipotent God Who would preserve His word for us through the ages.

I would point to the Dead Sea Scrolls as proof that the Torah and many prophet manuscripts were unchanged through the ages.

I would point to history and archeological findings that support it.

To this person....she was fine with the fact that Jesus was once alive as historical fact. She has trouble with knowing the RCC put the bible together. What about Martin Luther's Wittenberg bible? Didn't he translate the first bible for the layperson? I didn't mention him, but he was instrumental in bringing the christian back to the basics of repentence and faith through Christ alone- proof that God is omnipotent and preserves His Word.

Any suggestions? Keep it simple!:nod :nod :nod

How about fulfilled prophecy - i.e. Isa 53 and the sufferring and death of Christ? Or the preservation of the Jewish people (despite persecutions throughout history) and the restoration of their nation Israel?

Also, what about all the other things going on all around us in the world today and the alignment of those things with biblical descriptions of the end-times?

I agree with Andy about the prophecy. I've found that it really gets people thinking...

For instance, there are over 300 Old Testament prophecies about the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus--they were all fulfilled right down to the tiniest detail. There is no way an imposter could have pulled it off!

It's interesting, too, that Jesus has remained unmatched throughout history. Though people try to put him on the same shelf as Buddah and Mohammad, he truly stands alone in his prophecy fullfillment, his miracles...his divinity.

Also, the Bible has undergone the same authenticity tests as all ancient writings--and passed with flying colors.

Hope this helps some.
