View Full Version : Need Help Witnessing....

......to a woman that is a professed Christian. She is one of the worst separationists I've ever seen! She does not witness to people to tell them that God so loved the world. She tells them that God so loved the people He'd already picked to be saved before they were ever born and everybody else is SOL....and she really says that!! She insists that GOD would use profanity, and that the bible does not speak against profanity, but cursing a person, literally. This woman says that ANYONE that goes to a church or is educated in Christian theology at a college level is brainwashed to spread apostasy. That is her favorite word, too! And the scripture that says God hates all workers of iniquity. Goodness, she wears that one out! She loves to tell everybody that they're going to HAYAL and that she's going to laugh at them. She evades the question of Christ's deity regularly. She only refers to Jesus as the Son of God, but will not directly answer as to His deity. I'm at my witt's end with this person. I get so angry at the hate she spews, and I want to combat her negativeness, but I always get fired up about it. I need some help. I don't know what else I can say or do. I try so very hard to guard my witness and not get in the flesh, but I just can't stand to hear her cut one more person into shreds in the guise of "righteous anger and the judgement of God through the Holy Spirit."

I'm on my way out but here is a bit to get you started. I'll try to check back in tonight.
She does not witness to people to tell them that God so loved the world. She tells them that God so loved the people He'd already picked to be saved before they were ever born and everybody else is SOL....and she really says that!! Since she isn't privy to who has been chosen she should just faithfully preach the gospel and those who are chosen will come. And Jesus told us in John 3:16 that God does love the world so either Jesus is wrong or she is.
She insists that GOD would use profanity, and that the bible does not speak against profanity, but cursing a person, literally.
“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:29-32)
“Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and put perverse lips far from you.” (Proverbs 4:24)
This woman says that ANYONE that goes to a church or is educated in Christian theology at a college level is brainwashed to spread apostasy. There are some poor churches out there but there are also some outstanding churches out there. "Do you understand what you are reading?"
And he said, "How can I, unless someone guides me?" (Acts 8:30-31)
And while there are some poor liberal theologians teaching these days there are some attacks against Christianity that require solid, university-level scholarship.
We're told to study the Word.
And the scripture that says God hates all workers of iniquity. Goodness, she wears that one out! Those verses need to be balanced by pointing out ones that say how God so loved workers of iniquity (which we all are) that He sent His Son to die for their sins. That way the whole Word of God is presented. If we only hear about God's hatred of sin we have no hope. If we only hear about forgiveness we'll never deal with the sin that hinders our relationship with Christ.
She loves to tell everybody that they're going to HAYAL and that she's going to laugh at them. God won't be laughing and neither will she. The Lord desires that all repent and be saved.
She evades the question of Christ's deity regularly. She only refers to Jesus as the Son of God, but will not directly answer as to His deity. If she doesn't understand or believe that Jesus is God she has no business teaching others about Him. And, based on what you posted, even if she does understand and believe she still has no business teaching others about Him.

sounds like she is a calvinist. They sort of believe life is like a puppet show, And God is puppet master, or something like that. Even murder or profane languages is all part god's doing.

I appreciate the responses. Talking to her is like talking to a self-righteous brick wall.
Paul, she says that it's not her place to preach, per se. She says that the Holy Spirit will put those that God has chosen in the path of believers so they can be preached to. My question to her was how does she know who that is exactly? Her response: very few will actually believe, so it's very rare that I share. Speaking of sharing.....her "knowledge" is hers, and not for her to share with anyone. If God wanted you to have it, He'd have given it to you. She says that profanity is something that "the world" disapproves of, so it can't be something God disapproves of (ugh). In her eyes, if you're well-liked or respected, then you're not of God. So her reputation as a hate spewing vinegar factory is fine by her.....lol. As I said before, she thinks that until you're saved as per your predestined marking of God, you are scum. You're still scum even if you profess your faith openly and live it accordingly because you're obviously not really saved if you think that all people have the power to choose salvation. This is ear tickling, as she calls it. When God said He so loved the world, it only meant the predestined believers.
She is the reason I "coined" this phrase:
Satan is the accuser of the Brethern and Jesus is the Righteous Judge. I don't want Satan's job, and I can't do Jesus's job. Who's job are you trying to do?
I get so frustrated because she has absolutely no respect for anyone. In fact, she liked me just fine, said I was a "prodigy of the Word" that was annointed to share God's message......then I disagreed with her. Now she says I'm hellbound for sure because I'm apostate for trying to witness to all that come across my path. I'm just really at a loss as to how to deal with her anymore......sigh.
I would like to ask that you guys pray for me that I can keep a cool head when next she and I meet. And pray that her eyes are opened to the damage she is doing in misrepresenting God's Word. This lady is over 70 years old and so very set in her ways. Thanks ya'll.

ROFL.....it's so funny that you should ask that. No, she does not, but anybody that believes in the manifestion of the spirit by speaking in tongues, healing, and other gifts of the Spirit is possessed and MUST be drinking poison and handling snakes! I once told her that I handle snakes and drink poison regularly. I live out in the country and it's not uncommon for me to have to remove a snake from my yard, and I drink a half a pot of coffee and goodness knows how much Pepsi every day!

Sounds like a very very weird extreme calvinist to me. I would echo the earlier posts of advice on how to deal with this person. In this particular case I would let scripture do the arguing and speak for itself. Keep the faith in all joy and dont give up :):

Ga 5:22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
