Ok so some people ive seen on websites and stuff and other people say stuff like ... this is a quote ...

""Okay. At the moment, I'm agnostic, and planning to do my self-initation ritual into Wicca soon, after doing some more reading to make sure it's all good for me. Now, onto the actual topic:

I don't think Heaven, as a concept, is possible. I don't think that perfection, even by any Divine Will, is possible for humans.

This is my problem with the concept of Heaven: If you're always happy, then eventually, you will forget sadness and have nothing to compare happiness to, hence creating a mind-numbing monotonous state of emotion for eternity, which is almost what the Ancient Greek Underworld was. And if you try to make a fluxuation between happiness and "neutrality", than eventually you will come to view this neutrality as sadness.

I'm not trying to flame Christianity- I consider myself a very accepting person. I'm just pointing out one of my main theological problems with the religion- Heaven. I have several more, but I won't get into those now.""

Now i know that heaven is going to be like SO not boring and all but how you supposed to answer back to this :confused

P.s If this thread's in ther wrong place feel free to move it

I don't think Heaven, as a concept, is possible. I don't think that perfection, even by any Divine Will, is possible for humans.

This is my problem with the concept of Heaven: If you're always happy, then eventually, you will forget sadness and have nothing to compare happiness to, hence creating a mind-numbing monotonous state of emotion for eternity, which is almost what the Ancient Greek Underworld was. And if you try to make a fluxuation between happiness and "neutrality", than eventually you will come to view this neutrality as sadness. If happiness eventually become neutrality, and neutrality eventually becomes sadness, then eventually we’d be sad and have something compare to happiness. Then we'd be happy again. :B:

Seriously though...

The poster is trying to compare our world with one that's different in every way. He's applying our physical reality and limitations to a metaphysical reality in which all limitations are removed.

"It has not yet been revealed what we shall be." (1 Jhn 3:2) And again "eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him". (1 Cor 2:9)

In heaven I’ll still be Paul and you’ll still be Jesus-is-Lord but the Bible says we'll not only have new bodies, we’ll also have new natures, and we’ll live in a new creation.

Why is there sadness in the world? Because of our sin. And while God may not cause sin He is able to use the resulting sadness to shift our focus off this world and onto the world to come. These issues are an integral part of this world but they won’t be in heaven. It won’t be necessary to deal with sin nor will it be necessary to deal with people who are running from the Lord. We need to keep these things in mind when we talk about heaven.

But even in this world the Christian’s happiness isn’t predicated on having gone through bad times and now things are going well so we’re happy. What did Paul say in 2 Cor. 7:4? “I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation.” Circumstance is not the source of our happiness, our relationship with Christ is.

If that’s true in this world how much more will it be true in heaven when we are like Him and He dwells among us?

I don't think we'll be bored at all. I don't even think our minds can grasp how wonderful Heaven will be. I wish I could give you a better answer than that but it really is hard to describe just how perfect Heaven will be. I guess it's just a matter of faith.
