Hello Brother & Sisters,

There is a 3 hour outreach event coming to our town in 2 weeks produced by Josh McDowell called "Bold Truth Tour-Youth Extravaganza" and alot of the area churches are promoting this event.

Here is the link to the website with a video clip of wht they will be doing:

I was wondering if anyone has been to this event and what are some of the opinions.

I've attended this. First Josh came a few weeks before the concert and talked to parents. It was an information/promotional thing to lead up to the concert.

The concert centers on Superchick. Between sets, Josh comes out and pretends to be young and hip and shares his testimony which is really good. He talks about his research. The basic theme is , why do you believe what you believe. The basic set up is, for christian kids to know why they are christians.

There is an altar call which was pretty big, however there was no follow up at all. Alot of merchandise was sold. It was entertaining and the teens seemed to enjoy it. I wouldn't see it as anything life changing. Just basically entertaining.

I haven't been to anything of Josh McDowell's. But he has been around for a very long time. He was around when I was in youth group. :laugh We have several of his books and I trust him.

If it was near by I would take our youth at church to it for sure. :thumb

And if superchick is gonna be there :dance :yay
