Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

I have a friend who is into dream interpretations and likes to use this verse to justify it. She also claims her dreams come true. For example, she said she had a dream about her mother dying and 3 months later her mother died. Never mind the fact that her mother was elderly, diabetic, and severely over weight. :(: I don't want to put limits on God, but I really don't think the above verse is pertaining to things like this. So could somebody help me understand this verse a little better?

Thanks again,
Jerry

That verse is often taken out of context.

It was being used in defense of those accused of being 'drunk' when they were in fact speaking in tongues at the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

Hardly the same thing as so-called 'Dream Interpretation'. Besides... Dreaming that your sick elderly Mother is going to die is normal and not prophetic.

Dreaming that your sick elderly Mother is going to die is normal and not prophetic.

Not to her. :(:

I could mention the dream I had about failing a test, and then actually failing it when I took it. Dream come true, or was it the fact that I was worrying about it because I wasn't prepared. :nod

Thanks,
Jerry

Dream come true, or was it the fact that I was worrying about it because I wasn't prepared. :nod Both. Same goes for the sick elderly Mother example.

Dreams are one of those topics that we really still know very, very little about.

Science and medicine still can't even tell us why we dream.
