'The Beast' Movie Set To Open 06-06-06

Former Christian's Film Asserts That Christ Never Existed

Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 Posted: 5:34:41PM EST

The “666 day countdown,” as announced on www.thebeastmovie.com, has begun for the movie entitled “The Beast,” which is scheduled to open on June 6, 2006 – that is, 06-06-06, the biblical number of the beast referred to in the book of Revelations.

Directed by former fundamentalist Christian, Brian Flemming, the film is intended to spread the theory that is “gaining credibility among scholars” - that Jesus Christ never existed.

As stated on the film’s site:

“The authors of the Gospels, writing 40 to 90 years after the supposed life of Christ, never intended for their works to be read as biographies. There are no credible non-Christian references to Christ during the period in which he is said to have lived.”

These guys have lost their brains.:nod Okay they believe there is a beast called satan but they don't believe Jesus exsisted?:freaked So what does that mean "there is no G-d":confused well that is just unbelievable in itself. They believe in the unseen satan, but not the unseen Lord, very good guys, they really have lost their minds in Hoolysnood, oh I mean Hollywood, okay one exists and one doesn't, same theory as their stupid movie!:pound Don't they know there are more books written about Jesus in the library of congress than any other human that walked this earth. Don't yell at me, I know our Lord was not just a human!:clap Thank G-d!:):

I had thought about the 06/06/06 date, and knew there would be something brewing!;): I hadn't thought movie, but something for sure! And probably not something we might enjoy!:freaked Like a movie:pound in His love and laughing my butt off while writing, it is just so unbelievable! hannahrachel

The trailer reminded me of a low budget "documentary" a la "Blair Witch".

I guess some people think this is funny??:confused

I heard Jack van Impe talking about this guy on his tv show the other day. Apparently he has been in the news lately as he or some cohort of his were on Larry King Live. I guess this guy was a former fundamentalist Christian who turned against God and the church...if it's the same guy that is.

Im pretty sure that even atheists believe Jesus existed at some point in history, the only disagreement is whether he was the Messiah or just a religious figure. This movie is striving to gain sales via shock factor, and the public are tired of the entertainment industry struggling to be 'shocking'. This movie is going to crash and burn, i wouldnt worry about it at all.

Boy, why don't they just stand next to some gas fumes with a lit match? That's about as safe as thumbing your nose at God and glorifying this crap.

These people are just ignorant. there is plenty of evidence that Jesus existed.

Interestingly they will probably accuse 'fundamentalists' of violating certain principles such as ....

'do unto others as you would have done unto yourself'
'love your enemies'
'love your neighbor as yourself'
'judge not'

could this be like the Great Deception? I wouldnt know, but it sure is a terrible lie that everyone believes that Jesus never existed.

I have a lot to say about the fundamentalists... To narrow it down...
"They keep them from Entering..."

Jesus is all I have in common with them....
It's enough... I can, and will, and do, Love them anyway...

I am sure I will see them there with Him too...

Ooooh weee, I wish I could meet that guy and give him every single proof that Jesus existed. The first one is this: have archaeologists found this Man's body? there's Muhammad's, there's Siddhartha's a.k.a Buddha, Zoroaster, but no one has found Jesus' body. They might as well find Moses' body tomorrow, but please, proof is proof. If there is no bodily sign of Jesus, truly He is the Son of God.
I dislike people like this, first Dan Brown, now Brian Flemming. Who's next? Sheesh.

I think they mean to referr to Christianity as the 'beast of the world' :mad .

Disgusting, little smart alek "theologists" that base their belief on what HISTORY says.

They think the disciples made it up? :pound

Why would they lie about it, be d, stay poor, be rejected by society, be fugitives, for something they made up? It has to be real for them to suffer. Christ is real, they're looney.

Often people are uncertain about the existence of Christ, but few scholars would disagree that a man named Jesus lived roughly between 2 BC and about 33 AD. History documents that this man was not a myth but a real person and the historical evidence for this is excellent. For instance, the Roman historian Tacitus, writing in about 115 A.D., records the events surrounding Emperor Nero in July of A.D. 64. After the fire that destroyed much of Rome, Nero was blamed for being responsible: "Consequently, to get rid of the report, Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite s on a class d for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus [Christ], from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilate, and a most mischievous superstition [Christ's resurrection] thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome, where all things hideous and shameful from every part of the world find their center and become popular.

Says one excited poster: "I must say, I highly commend this director for his immense courage on putting something like this out!! The fact that he has the courage to put out a movie about the possibility of Christ never existing after all the controversy surrounding a movie about the LIFE of Christ (well death really) is just amazing!!

he has courage allright!! I wouldnt want to be in his shoes when judged by God for cuestioning his existence so publically.

this movie is garbage.

A calculated exercise in reaping as much value out of the widespread knowlage of the number 666 - for any purpose. He couldn't come up with a good use of the number, so created "anything", in the hope the crowds would come, evern if out of curiosity.

It's not inherently dangerous, people are smarter than he gives them credit for. I just hope it flops bad.

I'm a little different than that vast sum of the RR swarm, but to be honest a nice puppet show would do me ok :);

I love really simple things like that, very low budget black and white indie films, poetry slams, getting trounced in chess matches by nine year olds. Big budget film doesn't cut it for me at all anymore. To be honest, I didn't feel like I was having alot of fun at the most recent Star Wars movie either.

I tend to think that if someone in Hollywood would try and produce some INTELLIGENT movies about characters in the Gospel or Jesus' life it would do OK :):

I would love to see an accurate unfluffed four hour epic of King David too. Maybe at the Wedding Supper Jesus will dim the lights and we can watch an "Entire History of Everything that Ever Happened on Earth and the Spiritual War Behind the Curtains as it Actually Occured" one hundred thousand year mega-movie narrated by Noah and Elijah. We definitely have lots of time to burn...Oops, I mean to be super joyful.

Im sorry to say I no longer expect Hollywood to produce anything worth my time other than an exagerrated historical movie of some sort. I still like Braveheart and Gladiator though.

I'm a big fan of fiction, however this movie just screams of lunacy. Jesus Christ has been documented more than any individual in the history of mankind. Jesus Christ did exist and there are multitudes of factual historical evidence to prove so.

The divide has always been was Jesus divine or not. Even people of the Muslim faith regard Jesus as prophet of some sort. I really enjoy a good fictional novel or movie from War of World UFO's to Lord of the Rings, but this one I will not even waste my time on.

Let me get this straight, the central thesis of a movie called 'the beast' (a.k.a. the antichrist) is that Jesus Christ never existed. Hmm ...

1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that [spirit] of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

This is funny,i was just watching on TV yesterday how jesus actually never died on the cross that it was a setup to make it look like it.And that he had many kids who became kings and rulers. So first its he lived and then faked his own death, now its he never lived at all.I just thank God for the bible and the truth.

Amen, sister! And a big ol' bag of M&M's to go along with it!! Yummy... :heh

Seriously though, this film will probably win all kinds of acclaim for being courageous, on the edge, brave... etc. Well guess what... as they always say, there's a fine line between brave and stupid. The acclaim will stop at heaven's gate!!

What amazes me is that people like who produced this movie, and atheists...... sure do spend alot of time, money and effort to disprove that someone they don't believe in ever existed.
Did I make sense in that statement?

This is just a Michael Moore want-to-be. Make a cheap, anti-God, anti-right, controversial move (regardless of truth) and the same flock will pay millions to see it. But it interesting how bold these movie makers are becoming. “Prince of the Airwaves” keeps coming to mind! :freaked

Yep, another crazy hollywood movie and it's purpose to steer all young people from christianity. Really, they thats was their goal to this movie in the first place (I got that impression from their website). They didn't do it for a profit although they do want money. I believe they got the idea from Mel Gibson "the passion"
