I wasn't sure where to put this at. I hear all the time when the Lord closes one door He will open another door. Is there any scripture to back this saying up? I have ALOT of doors closing nothing opening up! Thanks for any input!

Perhaps He wants you to sit still??? Psalms 46:10-11 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

This could be what you are actually looking for: 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Daniel 3:17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

The only place I could think of where this is mentioned was in acts but I did a search and found these...

Acts 14:27
On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.

1 Corinthians 16:9
because a great door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many who oppose me.

2 Corinthians 2:12
[ Ministers of the New Covenant ] Now when I went to Troas to preach the gospel of Christ and found that the Lord had opened a door for me,

Colossians 4:3
And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.

We just recently studied this topic in the covenant group I attend at my church. One of the conclusions we reached is that God is sovereign, and where you are in life right now is exactly where He wants you to be. Another comment I found helpful is that just because things are difficult, or "doors arent opening" doesnt mean that your not doing the right thing. I do hope that God does show you the way you are seeking but always keep in mind...

Proverbs 16:9
A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

Proverbs 20:24
A man’s steps are of the LORD; How then can a man understand his own way?

Praise God for His sovereignty!
