Well, I've been working out with him for over a year, and as of recently, the past 6-8 months or so, he's had what I thought were Bible studies, and I later learned they were, you guessed it, Jehovah Witnesses.
So I finally glazed on the subject the other night, asking him (knowing the answer already) what kind of Bible study it was.
I asked him how his beliefs differed from say a Christians, and not to his fault, he wasn’t sure exactly beyond saying he/they don't believe in hell.
His reasoning is, a loving God wouldn’t burn people in hell. He proceeded to say everything he’s been learning about is straight out of the Bible, and this just feels "right" to him.
---
Now, I don't like to pry, and I'm not going to tell anyone WHAT to believe, but I did lightly rebuttal, and explained my reasoning for why I felt what he said was false.
Now, one thing we did agree on, was Jesus, and that he is the son of God, and died for our sins. Now, to me this is fundamental, and the key reason for my post. If he believes this with his heart, as confused as he might be about the details (Jesus died on a stake, not a cross? no hell, and a few other odd things he said) isn’t he still saved?
I know I don't know all the details, but I know one thing about Jesus, so if he feels the same way, does it matter he may be confused about other things?
