I was watching O'Reilly Factor tonight and Franklin Graham was a guest. They were talking about whether the fight with the Muslims is a holy war. Anyway, they both said something to the affect of "My God is not a God of vengeance."
I believe they said this because of the Muslims beliefs in killing infidels and that as Christians we are not called to commit violence against those who are not believers/those who are our enemies. However, I disagree with the statement that God is not a God of vengeance.
Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Franklin Graham also talked about the battle of Armageddon, and how good would triumph over evil. This in itself proves that God does take revenge, and does punish.
