Yesterday, just before they were supposed to go to the county fair, my son Greg and his son Chase were walking to the car with another grandson of mine. On the way to the car, Chase said, "Daddy, I can't go to the fair right now." (Obviously something an 8 year old loves, the rides, cotton candy and the lights and excitement of all the people) Greg asked Chase why he couldn't go, being flabbergasted at his refusal. Chase said, "I have to go get saved." Greg said, "Well maybe you can get saved Sunday at church", (I'm sure he may have been thinking this was just the boy's way of responding to vacation bible school, and not wanting to force Chase into making up his mind on the spot, fearing it might turn out to be commonplace.) So......then Chase said, "No, I can't go anywhere, I have to get saved now!" Well, the upshot is Greg took his son to talk with the pastor, and the boy got saved and told everybody in the family of it. You can be sure those he hasn't will know soon enough! In our family, we do not push children to make this sort of decision too early, which I think is wise. But when a child can explain his
desires, we do take it seriously!.......Praise the Lord!

unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Matt. 19.14

Wow, that is great! Praising God with you!!

One of my proudest moments was when my 5 year old (at the time) marched forward down the aisle of our church and gave his heart to the Lord. He tells everyone he knows about it too.

You know, I think as we grow older and are exposed to the falsehoods of the world, it becomes more difficult to be touched by the Word of God. But that boy did not make this decision in VBS, though I am sure he had opportunity.
So to me it was a considered decision by a tender little heart, and now he has a WHOLE LIFE TO GIVE TO GOD, not a half or quarter of one as some of us. God loves little children, and we do not stand in their way if they evince real conviction. Glad to hear aboutyour 5 year old.
