hey my fellow Jesus lovers, :nod

So, in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve were naked. They didnt have to worry about clothes, or how they look. They didnt have to worry about getting to work or anything, except obeying God.

So, is everything we have today, material wise, just a result of sin? So, basically, everything that doesnt feed our spirit in this world, is really a result of sin, right?

For instance, people are obsessed with clothes and other material stuff, but had A and E not sinned, wouldnt we still all be naked having an awesome worry free time with God?

So isn't everything not Spiritual in life, just a way to feed our flesh, or in other words, sin?? it's one of those questions that makes me feel crazy.... :wacko

Two cautions;
1) Prior to their sin there was work to do. They were given the job to tend the garden and keep it. And apparently other physical things such as child-birth were in place as well. Now, these things became immensly more difficult because of sin - toil and sweat at work, pain in child-birth...etc.

This leads to 2) not everything material is sin. It is a false dichotomy that sees everything spiritual as good and physical as bad. Remember, God created Adam and Eve as physical creature with physical bodies and physical needs and desires and called it all good before they sinned.

Granted, the over emphasis on stuff can be sin, or lead us to sin to get and keep it. but much of the physical stuff is a blessing and to be enjoyed.

Clothes for example - sure people can and often do over due clothes and this can be sin. But is was God himself that clothed Adam and Eve, so they cannot be sin in and of themselves.
