Is he a fabulous preacher or what! I find he has a way of explaining complex subjects in a way that dumbells like me can understand.
The radio broadcast is on at 3:15 AM(!) and I make serious effort to listen every day.
What do y'all think of him?

Thanks Paul! Lot's of good stuff to read and listen to. The Q&A session from Utah was packed full of great answers.

Jesus Among Other gods was a wonderful read. Can Man Live without God was also and excellent book. Ravi is a great blessing.
I'll have to see if he is on the radio around here (Southern California). We're inundated by Calvary Chapel Radio...Ravi must be somewhere here.

I first saw RZ preach nearly 40 years ago. He was just a young pup at the time ... affiliated with our Church in Toronto. If I recall he came out to our local Church with an evening series but I can't remember the topic only the "experience".
Anyway, what I can remember is that he talked for nearly 2 hours straight and nobody moved. He was absolutely riveting. The time went by like a 20 minute sermonette.
He had a manor of speaking which was on the one hand very simple and quite understandable, even for me a teenager, and yet you got the sense he had an IQ with several more digits in it than any preacher I had ever heard before.

Ravi Zacharias was my introduction to Christian radio. Prior to listening to him, I don't think it ever occurred to me that there were any Christian radio stations other than the Country Christian music stations.
I had been saved for a year and change when a friend showed me Ravi's website. He had his mp3s available for download long before it was common to do so. I used to download 3-4, then queue them up in Winamp and listen to them while I played Madden 2001.
I really enjoy the "high brow" aspect of his lectures.
He is one of three preachers that I make a point of listening to ... the other two are:
Chuck Smith (http://www.thewordfortoday.org)
J Vernon McGee (http://www.ttb.org)

Ravi rocks. I love all of his stuff. He can speak very intellectually, but you understand him very easily.

I note that he has quite the analytical mind and is extremely well read.
<Rhetorical question> How come I never heard of him before this year?

<Rhetorical question> How come I never heard of him before this year?I don't think he "does" TV. And he tends to circulate in highbrow Hindu society circles poking holes in their false gods.
He has a very good series of debates (available on MP3 from his website) conducted on several university campuses across the US in which he debates morals, ethics and the necessity of God with senior representatives of non-Christian religions.

I have a player which will play the MP3s and when I drive on long trips I can listen to 6 or 8 sermons back to back.
I use earphones and the kids watch movies on one of those little DVD players. Everybody's happy :thumb

If it hadn't been for a friend of mine who got me into CBD our of Peabody, Mass., I may have not heard of him either. The cover of Jesus among other gods drew me in...and I ordered it...and devoured it.
At that same time our Sunday school got to watch a collection of sermons he gave in Littleton, Colorado after the Columbine shooting.

I go to all of the Tech football games ... about 5 hours each way ... listening to Bible broadcasts sure makes that time pass more quickly ...

Here's a site that continuously updates and adds Ravi's latest sermons, as well as sermons from many other radio broadcasts. Check it out... (the second link is the sermon archives where many more are located.)

Here is a link to a page that includes many other ministries who have their sermons available for download in mp3 format.

I can go to this site and find many of my favorite minister's sermons without having to bounce all over the Internet. It's quite useful.

I LOVE Ravi! He is so different from any other preacher I have heard. Very intellectual. I always get a new perspective on whatever subject he is speaking about.
